Skip is changing the name to George/Roy/Hill from what is currently George Roy//Hill. I can understand that if he did indeed change the name to George Roy//Hill just based on his "belief" that Skip's frustration is justified, but he states in his notes that he believes it should be George/Roy/Hill, exactly what Skip is changing it to now. The statement made about what he "believes" could have just been related to what he wanted to change but didn't due to not having any proof that it should be George/Roy/Hill. This is why I asked if anyone other than Skip can remember if he did indeed contribute a change from George/Roy/Hill to George Roy//Hill like Skip is suggesting. I only ask because he was so specific in his notes to clarify what he believed should be done. "I believe that the director should be George(first name) Roy (middle name), Hill (last name)." Even going as far as to spell it out (first name, middle name, last name). Skip is changing this to what I believe both of them wanted, but since the previous contributer didn't have any documentation, he chose to leave it as it was, but noted his preference in his contribution since he was adding the rest of the crew. This is simply speculation. I thought that maybe the user had intended to enter G/R/H but had made a simple mistake, but your suggestion sounds much better. It's also possible the user in question only had the GR//H version in their database (there are plenty out there) and if they're not an experienced user they may not have known the best way of correcting it. Without know what was changed, what the profile was like before the submission, the experience of the user and so on... there are just too many variables that would affect my stance on this, but so far I have seen nothing to justify starting a thread about it.  | | | | Last edited: by northbloke |
