| Posted: | | | | As one of the more silent members here, I'm now compelled to chime in. Quoting Winston Smith: Quote: Then don't submit data that you can'ty back up Ummm....that's exactly what you did! You submitted data without verifying it's accuracy, and we know you can't verify it since your collection is in storage. Quoting Winston Smith: Quote: And don't 5try and tell me that undocumented is Godcd, that's simply BULL That statement is bull. Documentation does not change the fact of whether the data itself is right or wrong, it only helps to validate if said data is right or wrong. Again, you've even proven this statement is bull...you provided documentation for data that was clearly wrong, replacing data that was clearly right even though the documentation for the right data was not up to your standards, but did meet Invelos's standards. | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

| Posted: | | | | It is really amazing.
I had hoped this thread was over on the 14th at about 8:06pm. Almost 2 days without a post. 30 hours since Skip made a post.
Then bam---it started up again, and not by skip. Skip didn't make a post for almost 4 days in this thread.
I really hate to say this, Skip is not the only one with issues. There are a number of people that want to see the arguing continue.
Unreal. I am really beginning to understand why people leave....

| Posted: | | | | Of course since he is probably on vacation again... Anyway nothing bad with the fact to continue to show he has willingly contribute a profile with bad data. Of course we can always bend over, take it in the ass like some of his cheerleaders do and be happy to see him breach the contribution rules | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

Charlie I respectfully disagree that my comments regarding Skip's behaviour and actions could be considered "arguing". I do have an issue with Skip. As I would any other communitee member who violates not only invelos rules but the trust vital to a communitee. I, and others, have raised legitimate questions which Skip refuses to answer. I do not understand how anyone could defend him or his actions. You are correct Charlie in that many people have left the invelos communitee. Most of them left as a direct result of Skip's behaviour and actions. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

I don't think anyone has defended what Skip did in this case, but there's no excuse at all for anyone in this discussion to post inflamatory personal attacks. There seem to be several people who just enjoy pushing Skip's buttons (I suspect in hopes of getting him banned) and that's just as offensive to me as him trying to put (rather trivial) bad data into a profile. --------------- | | | Last edited: by scotthm |

You are correct Charlie in that many people have left the invelos communitee. Most of them left as a direct result of Skip's behaviour and actions. Actually arguing is the correct term, by definition. The other term that applies is insanity. We have 21 pages of exactly the same thing. Even you have basically repeated yourself, expecting a different result. How many times must you repeat yourself, along with many others here. Everything that needs to be said has been. As far as your other statement, they may have left the forums because of all the arguing, but have left contributing for many other reasons, not associated with Skip. I for one am thinking about stopping. (though nobody would probably care). It has nothing to do with Skip, nor the rules (directly), nor the forums. It does have everything to do with the contributors and the voters. Charlie |

| Posted: | | | | As far as arguing about improper contributions and voting.
I have been directly commented at for my no vote, because I asked for a Source. (I'll agree it was a simple matter, but the rules do state a full explanation).
I made 2 contributions for combo sets with DVD as primary. Contributed per rules with BD first and DVD as child. In the notes quoted the rules concerning these and still got mainly no votes.
1 contributor submitted the same changes 6 times (adding stunt people improperly to the online profile) and finally got approved (even with mainly no votes)
there are certain people that vote yes no matter what (we have all seen them).
None of these contributors or voters have been brought up before the inquisition and harped on for 21 pages (and growing).
Some of these could be excusable from new users, but these are people that have been around for a while.
Skip made a bad decision and a mistake. Nobody is arguing this. But what ever you want to call this, I still see it as arguing (harping) (mainly what I see from children).

You've made some valuable additions to profiles I own and have also posted useful remarks in votes of my contributions. Don't underestimate yourself. I would be sad to see you stop contributing | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I personally love auditing movies and contributing. No votes make my contribution better because I can fix an error, if I agree or let it stand for the screeners. Many times after a contribution and acceptance, someone else will contribute more changes. This just makes the DB stronger and better. I contribute for the benefit of others, if they see the value, or withdraw for the sake of others and lock portions of my profile and even further resubmit leaving out portions of my changes.
Bottom line, don't take it personal. I prefer good notes, but accurate data is more important. I don't like having to check the changes someone else made because of the lack of notes, but I will if the data is correct. I trust people I know to have contributed good data in the past. If they say they checked it, I believe them. Nuff said. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
