Frankly the naming schemes around 4K / Ultra HD / HDR / etc. are not incredibly well thought out imo. The discs themselves most commonly indicate "4K ULTRA HD" in silver on black, and it seems the retailers prefer "4K". Of course that has it's own issue due to "4K mastered Blu-ray". Unfortunately, they have made a mess of the verbiage, more due to marketing, and they also use the Ultra HD Premium logo on the front too. From what I've seen the Ultra HD Blu-ray logo is used on the spine, the actual disc, and sometimes on the back cover. Although it seems they prefer a black logo, maybe to blend in with the black cases. HDR and SDR are a different animal though since UHD can have either high dynamic range or standard dynamic range content and still be 4K. Having them switchable would be great! |

| Posted: | | | | So no big changes in how the database is structured? With the last big update we had the ability to add UPC/Disc variants, which was a great update. But it seemed like more was coming, like the ability to have a profile have multiple covers (slips/nonslips). Also it appeared there were hints to moving to a more centralized DB structure as far as films were concerned. That would be huge, to have on entry for each film (or cut) as far as cast, crew, details, so there aren't hundred Dark Knight profiles to update. So if this just an update for 4k, Atmos, calendar view, etc then I'm not too excited. Happy for those that are looking forward to it, but doesn't do much for me. My unsolicited advice to you Ken, is to come up with something that the majority of DVDP users would be willing to pay a monthly/yearly fee to have, I'd love to have a reason to give you more money, if it's something I'd like. I would guess that sales of DVDP have dipped quite a bit, as most stores I used to shop for discs only carry new releases and my shopping is way down. I would think you have already explored these options, but at the same time IMO you have squandered the potential that the community could have given you. For most users the DVDP application would be worthless for all the hard work and effort made by those that spent their time to contribute. I got my money's worth with my license purchase, and I also hope I added value to it by all my work with contributions as well as voting on others' contributions. Glad to see that updates are still coming, and am happy for those that are excited for the updates! | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

I loved the insta type feature, where you could see each keystroke.. not to mention the sounds the program used. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

Just that things of that nature don't make exciting screenshots, so the calendar thing was shown instead. As for the level of changes you're talking about, I'm still in wait and see mode. Unless I missed something, I don't believe we know everything that will be included just yet. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Another peek. This shot shows some of the available badges that can be displayed with thumbnails. There are several more options, and each can be pinned to a corner/moved/configured. “Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!” | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Nice Ken! Once again... nothing I would personally use as I don't use the thumbnail view. My personal wish list: - Filter on gift giverI would find it useful to filter only titles each person has generously given me. - Play All in FeaturesWould be helpful for both TV series episodes as well as shorts and even seen it one some multiple movie discs. - Better Linking- better option then Birth Years- Gift Info added to Charts and GraphsI mean like charts and graphs on the gift givers... % of gifts given per giver. - More Info on FeaturesSuch thing as... - number of commentaries and with who - Titles of Bonus Trailers - Titles/lengths of Featurettes - Titles of Music Videos etc. etc. But that is just things that I personally been hoping for over the years. | | | Pete |

ICQ was the only IM on which I gathered a significant number of friends (a few over 100) who I chatted with on a weekly basis. It made keeping a dozen conversations going at once quite interesting. I hated when people began to disappear from it. On every other messenger, I never had more than 10 to 20 friends. | Posted: | | | | My biggest wish is a restructure of the database to have a single copy of the info for each movie and automatically sharing that to all profiles. It would make things easier on the users and cut down on approver labor by a huge margin. Having 200+ versions of popular movies in the DB thanks to multiple editions, formats and countries that all have to be manually found and updated for every change (and can never even be definitively correct thanks to birth years and common names being able to changed based on things that happen post-release) is the biggest problem DVD Profiler has right now. |
