For example, what kind of File System are you using on the drive that contains DVDP?
You can find out by right-clicking on the drive in Explorer and chose Properties. The file system will either be FAT32 or NTFS.
The second thing is, Windows XP is a 32bit operating system. Which means that one program can only address 2 GB of RAM memory.
Depending on how Ken wrote the restore it might just be that your memory is running full.
You can observe this by starting the Task Manager (right-click on the Task bar, switch to Processes) when you run the restore. If DVDP reaches 2 GB, you'll know you're in trouble territory.
But quite honestly, Windows XP has simply reached the end of its lifetime and usefulness. In the computer era that's eons. Most people don't even drive cars that old. | | | Karsten

That's probably because of your graphics card. The amount of ram on those counts towards the 4gb maximum ram a 32 bit system can use. So if you have 4gb system ram and a card with 512mb of ram on it then you'd actually only have 3.5 gb of useable system ram. My laptop (windows 8.1) is HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook /AMD Turion II P540 Dual Core 2.40 64 bit/4.00 GB memory/ Windows 8.1 /// and of course my other PC is Windows XP Professional SP3/ 4 GB Memory/ AMD Radeon HD 7700 series Video Card/2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. My liobrary is only 2000 titles and I use hi definition cover art. That's high from my experience, my 4800 profiles with high quality set for cover scans is only 1.16 gb. I don't use cast/crew pictures or any sort of html episode guide stuff for tv series though, so if you use those that may explain the difference. | | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |
