| | Posted: | | | | After uninstalling 3.8, I found one file remaining in the program file folder, deleted it, and reinstalled 3.72. Everything seems to be working as normal. Don't really know if that file had anything to do with it.... just trying to make sure everything was cleaned out. |

On 64 bit Windows 8 Profiler crashes. |

The blame clearly lies with INVELOS and not Microsoft! Version 3.70.2.1444 works PERFECTLY well with Windows 8 Release Preview, "upgrading" to version 8 crashes DVD Profiler.
If you're unfortunate to have "upgraded", do a full uninstall and then re-install version 3.7.2 which works fine.

Hi Ken If they are aware of the issue then why is it still online without a warning? It should be pulled until a working version is available. It is still in Beta status with no official releasedate yet, so Invelos still has a lot of time to fix this problem. That should be warning enough! Not really a valid argument when 3.7.2 works very well under Windows 8, so all Windows 8 users will rightly assume there are no issues when 3.7.2 prompts them to install the "NEW UPDATE". Maybe Invelos should do an OS check before they do the install. Judging by the forums they definitely knew of the problem BEFORE I did my "upgrade". I really like how you quote "MS" as "M$", very professional. |

YOU should be aware of what you're doing on your own computer. If you can't grasp this simple concept, then I would suggest that you avoid loading beta operating systems until you understand what you're doing and why you're doing it. Because you clearly seem to be missing the whole point of a "beta". This entire thread simply proves the fact.

Quit whining that Invelos didn't do this to protect you and Microsoft didn't do that. When you choose to play in beta land, those are risks you voluntarily take upon yourself. Why hide it in the readme file and give no indication in the release notes. I was pointing out to Invelos that they really should make their warnings clearer once these problems have been reported. Good to see they have a new beta up. |
