| | Posted: | | | | I just went and seen Titanic in 3D. Was the 3D worth it? Nope, but i have never seen the film in a cinema before so thought i might as well. Ok so many critics and film fans like to point finger's at it's 1 dimensional characters and dialogue.
All very fare criticisms indeed but it's not enough to entirely dismiss that bases. Cause clearly Titanic was never going to be a profound character study set on doomed ship. It's a film for the masses set to a rather interesting historical back drop with a very slight simple meaning of don't take life for granted.
For what it is it keep's me entertain and engaged for the 3 hours or so run time. And never in the 5 time's or so that i have seen it have i ever felt like i was sitting there for 3 hours.
The bit that does stand out the most for me in the film, and i consider some what masterful. Is when just before the final tragic moment's as the bow goes under and the ship split's in two. The film detracts briefly from Kate and Leo to the band playing Nearer My God To Thee.
Building the emotional climax beautify of the tragic fate that's about to befall the remaining passengers to then bursting into James Horners The sinking. Brilliant! |
