| | Posted: | | | | Mods for standalone Blu-Ray players provide region select only. That way you can change the region to answer what the disc wants to play its content. You can get pre-modded players from jvbdigital.com. You can also use AnyDVD to "remove" a region and use ImgBurn to burn a BD-RE/DL or BD-R/DL. What this does is patch the disc's Java code so that the disc always "thinks" it's in a player with the region you select in AnyDVD's settings. That confuses a lot of people... if they're in region "A" they just select "A" in settings... that's wrong. If it's a region B locked disc, the resulting copy will always "think" it's in a region A player, and will never play anything, ever. So, in AnyDVD settings, always select the region that matches the disc, if automatic detection doesn't work (which is often, since region checking routines can vary greatly, and be simple or complex).
