All I Want for Christmas

There's nothing like the open road though. The only reason I haven't ridden in so long is because I had to leave my last bike in Spain when my ex and I divorced and I couldn't afford another until now .

I would love to get my hands on an HDTV and Bluray... but I don't see that happening this year!

HDTVs are really coming down in price now. You could pick up a nice 32" 1080p LCD for around $420 or even less. I've even seen Blu-ray players for around $79.

Thanks Rory. I haven't ridden in over 10 years so I'll probably end up with a case of road rash or as someone's hood ornament but at least I'll look good when it happens .

Congrats to the new machine.

For ending up as hood ornament you should have have taken this little babe into consideration:

Suzuki Hayabusa Turbo

In Germany we name it Suzuki Harakiri

The local coppers here have a couple of Hayabusa's in their fleet (large motorbiking community here...). I currently have an oldish Fireblade but looking to upgrade next year. I don't get the chance to ride very often at all though

btw, not my local police force, but here is one of the UK's police Hayabusa's:

That Harley is nice btw, congrats

Thanks . I really love the blacked out look. My sister hates it...she has a Dyna Lowrider...tons of chrome and teal...teal? Too girly for me .

Well here's mine since you didn't ask. Another useless thread about something not associated with DVD's

IMHO... thread is not useless and as for it not being associated with DVDs... that is probably why it is in the general forum where it is supposed to be...

See what I put in bold. The thread is not any of the stuff that is against forum rules. And is more then welcome in some of our eyes.

Didn't say it was against the rules, just said it was useless. And it doesn't have to do with DVD's. It was my opinion.

The thread in not against forum rules, but some posts are:

While I don't agree with the way any of what you quoted was said... the rule as you quoted

Quote:
"Please try to be polite and respect others' opinions, even if you don't always agree with them".

Notice the word I put in bold. Between that and the fact that even Ken stated that not everyone will be nice on these forum shows that if nothing else this is something that is subjective (was the person pushed... if so how far?) and shows there is leeway.

I may not particularly like a lot of posts here... but with the way that rule is worded and with what Ken himself said... it really ends up meaning not much at all, unfortunately.

Which I wanted to counter with my opinion on the matter... showing not all will agree. And  since you made the fact that it has nothing to do with DVDs a separate thought... I felt the need to show that the site itself says the general section don't have to deal with DVDs. Because the way it read it wasn't totally obvious if you (or others) realized this or not.

A few years ago I got s phone call from a friend, about my age, asking me to come over and bring my camera equipment. Was I in for a surprised, because there he was all dressed in his leathers and boots with helmet standing besides his new Suzuki. That fad didn't last to long. I think seventy years old is just a little to late too start something like that.

Here in the Phoenix area we have a lot of motorcycle riders. We even have couple of lawyers specializing in motorcycle accident claims.

About sixty years ago, a friend's lady, all hysterical and crying, came into the local pub and begged me to bail him out. The cops had been laying for him and got him on about every violation in the books.
I rode back to the bar on the back of that motorcycle, it was winter and cold in KC, and since he had been nailed for every violation, he was mad. It was a hell of a ride. That was the first and last time I've ever been on a  motorcycle.
We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.

Yes I did realize it was General Discussion. (Even though I have half a Brain) (Thnx BadF-er)  I've heard of beer muscles... guess someone gets a case of cyber-muscles. He's upset that S-51 posted on a thread he started and took away some attention from his new bike. It looks like a nice bike, hope he's more curtious riding then he is on here. or he'll be grease spot on the road.

Actually, I believe he was annoyed by the fact that S-51 hijacked this thread with a disingenuous post...I say disingenuous because S-51 had to know that his post would add to the unfriendly atmosphere, which is the exact opposite of what he claimed to want for Christmas.

That wasn't how I took S-51 comment. He could have been sincere on his post. BadF. Just assumed he was not being geniune. I know they have a dislike for each other. It Could have been a friendly open hand gesture from S-51 and BF more or less spit in it. I Don't Know, just they way I took it.

It's obvious that the unfriendly atmosphere was, despite of his statement, exactly what he wanted to achieve.
Otherwise he wouldn't have used the somewhat outdated quote.

I might agree with you had he simply said, "All I would want for Christmas is to see friendly forums here," and left it at that.  Including the quote, however, just came off as poking the bear.  I could be wrong, but that is how I saw it.

Edit: I see Silence saw it that way as well.

well than maybe they should both be banned from forums for awhile. 1 for hi-jacking and the other for language.

You can see things as you want. Just to be precise, on my first post, I didn't quoted any user, since I didn't say who wrote the example I gave. The author could have had two choices: stop words war, telling he agreed a friendly atmosphere here would be good, which would have been sort of non said apologies, or continue his insults.

That is always as you have seen me, since the blackmailer affair.
I'm happy that you unblocked me for a while, though I did not use the fantastic opportunity you granted me to send you nice private messages. Say you "Merry Chritmas" and "Happy New Year" here since I will not be able to do this in private in the future.
