I've got my collection set up by character. If a toon contains more than one character - say Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck, a copy of the toon would exist in each of their collection.

Collections so far and count:
Bugs Bunny (127)
Claude Cat (5)
Daffy Duck (75)
Elmer Fudd (35)
Foghorn Leghorn (14)
Goofy Gophers (1)
Hubie and Bertie (3)
Marvin the Martian (8)
Pepe Le Pew (3)
Porky Pig (71)
Pussyfoot (5)
Road Runner (15)
Speedy Gonzales (17)
Sylvester (29)
The Tasmanian Devil (6)
Tweety (1)
Tweety & Sylvester (19)
Two Crows (2)
Wile E. Coyote (18)
Witch Hazel (4)
Yosemite Sam (18)
Other (103)

Let me state this... Where is a single disc Marvin Martian collection? There were two separate VHS tapes which contained all the (then) MM cartoons, but they were in random order. Given the huge amount of Marvin merchandise WB sold, I would think they could see a good sale of a Marvin Martian DVD or Blu-ray disc.

I'd buy it. In addition to all my Golden collections and my Platinum Blu-ray. One character, every cartoon, chronologically.

Pretty much all Marvin the Martian cartoon are included on the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection. What's missing are the shorts that are part of TV-series like Taz-Mania and Baby Looney Tunes, and the full movies.

If you use Wikipedia's list of Marvin cartoons, here are the ones that are not included in the Platinum Collection:

Bugs Bunny's Lunar Tunes (1991)
(compilation movie - all Marvin cartoons used in the movie are included)

The Man from M.A.R.S. (1993)
(episode from Taz-Mania)

Space Jam (1996)
(full theatrical movie)

Tweety's High Flying Adventure (2000)
(full direct to video movie)

War of the Weirds (Kid) (2003)
(Episode from Baby Looney Tunes)

Duck Dodgers (2003)
(TV-series)

Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
(full theatrical movie)

Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas (2006)
(45 minute TV-movie)

The Looney Tunes Show (2011)
(TV-series)

I'm willing to accept the set as complete, even without these movies.

From what I understand, a few of the cartoons on the Golden series were TV edited. The Platinum series will have no editing for any reason. These are the best possible restored versions of the cartoons, racist and other offensive moments and all the warts intact.

There were no edits in the golden collections.

Sorry... a number of those in the Golden Collections were the aap rereleases, not the originals,

That's a completely different issue. Yes, several cartoons are missing their original title cards. But, as far as I know, no new title cards has been restored for the Platinum Collections.

and at least one disc in volume 2 is digital artifact filled (and can be replaced) and other cartoons in the first few volumes are not beautiful digital reproductions. The Platinum cartoons seem much better.

I don't remember any severe digital artifacting with any Golden Collections, but I think there was a problem with improper interlacing on vol. 2

Volume 3 of the Golden collections started allowing unedited stuff with a explanation by Whoopie Goldberg.

Sure, but that does not mean that any of the cartoons from the previous volumes had any content removed. All cartoons on all Golden Collections are completely unedited.

I would still prefer a more library/collector approach... (and the Goofy and last two Donald sets were the same price as the others, had you bought them when they were new, Danae Cassandra).

Warner released about a thousand cartoons. It'll take about 20 releases to get them all out. Releasing them in a way that'll make each of the 20 sets interesting is a huge challenge. Especially the first two hundred or so and the last hundred cartoons are a hard sell for people that aren't die hard collectors.

You are right. It's not a stand-alone, but I can certainly enjoy this! Thanks!
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

The Looney Tunes Super Stars: Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote disc has all unique episodes that were not in any other collection I have.

Boulder Wham (1965)
Chariots of Fur (1994)
Chasers on the Rocks (1965)
Clippety Clobbered (1966)
Hairied and Hurried (1965)
Highway Runnery (1965)
Little Go Beep (2000)
Out and Out Rout (1966)
Shot and Bothered (1966)
Sugar and Spies (1966)
The Solid Tin Coyote (1966)
Whizzard of Ow (2003)

Looks more like the "Rudy Larriva" collection as there's no Chuck Jones.

Doesn't it also include "Chariots of Fur" and "Little Go Beep"? Chariots of Fur is made by Chuck Jones.

But, yeah, this is first and foremost a Rudy Larriva collection. While I'm not a huge fan of the shorts released by DePatie/Freleng industries, I do want these on DVD as well. So I really don't mind that they fill up the no-frills single disc Super Stars DVDs with post-1964 cartoons.

It's a bit of a shame that they didn't include Freeze Frame and Soup or Sonic as well, so that we could get all the modern Road Runners on one disc. Or the three remaining Larriva Road Runners, to complete that collection. Oh well, can't get'em all, I guess.

You're right, those are in there. I had forgotten that there were a couple I didn't save because they were already in my collection.
