While I understand (and share) the concerns shown in this thread... I more so agree with what Scotthm just said.

You can stop an argument simply by ceasing participation.

That happens very rarely on this forum though.

Everyone is free to only post on constructive topics in a friendly and helpful tone.
At the moment I post rarely, and only in specific threads. (Headshot Database, Common names or some tech support). It's quiet, constructive and friendly most of the time in these threads.

EDIT:
The above is also the reason why I stopped giving green arrows to funny pics (even when I like them) or snoddy answers (even when they are true and/or just) and spend them instead completely on constructive input like the birth years, common names, tech support or headshot threads.
I don't know their names, but in these threads are a handful of eager, friendly and dedicated people that still have no star, but deserve it more than I deserve mine...

I'm not happy that Ken shows very little presence at the moment, but I'm sure he has not abandoned Profiler. And in the meantime it won't help to "degenerate" the forum to make him come back sooner...
I don't know if he is occupied by the big cast & crew linking change he annonced for 3.8 or if something happened in his "real life" (family problems, illness, another job or maybe another little Cole...  ), but I'm sure he would let us know if he plans to put an end to DVD Profiler.

In the meantime I'll try to catch up correcting profiles, adding headshots or improve actor linking in the few moments a week I could spend on it.

And ignoring trolls and their constant bickering helps, too. As soon as no one answers there posts it will get very boring for them...

whilst I fully agree with some of the points made, and thast it would be very welcome if we had more invelos and moderator input, I vigorously disagree that the boards should be closed if (for whatever reason) this isn't forthcoming.

Yes, I avoid a lot more threads than I used to as they degenerate (or start off obviously headed that way) but the forums are still an absolutely vital part of being able to help other users in trouble and discuss contribution issues, and this does still happen every single day, despite some of the vulgarity going on in certain threads.

First I have agree 100% with you.

I think the General section and most of the other sections are a friendly and nice place to hang out. I do not see any hostility there. People help each other and have nice things to share.

The Contribution section gets out of hand at some topics, but this was always this way, only thing that has changed that such a topic does not get closed anymore. If you are bothered by those unnecessary fights just ignore the topic, that is what I do.

If Ken and Geri have abandoned Profiler ? Who knows ? Not me. Contributions get released in a timely fashion, nothing to complain there. Appearance in the forums is close to nothing, maybe Invelos has just given up on sorting things out here. I think some quarrels here go way too far back to be solved anymore. On the development side there is also no news for some time, so can be there won't be any development anymore, again who knows ? Not me, only time can tell.

Does that prevent me from enjoying the program and the friendly topics here, hell no! I like this program and this place.

Would I handle things different in the forum than Invelos, yes, but it is not my program, so I either live with it or leave here.

One sentence to the Gadaffi topic, as I posted there too. Yes, I was very glad that this mass murderer was killed, I was also very glad that Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin laden and many other terrorists are/were killed. Maybe I feel different about this than the people that are offended with such an opinion becuase i do not believe in any god or any religion, who knows ? Not me
