| Posted: | | | | At Amazon, com and de, the films name is Scream 4. You find it also with Scre4m, but the shown name is Scream 4 what is normal, also for most users. My friends tell, I'm out to the cinema to see Scream 4. All other names are artistical and marketing things to have a nice poster, but in a database you do not store poster and artistical things, you store names you search for.

If you are speaking of TRON "clarification" from Invelos, we have undoubtly SCRE4M... In no way Scre4m can be a word (totally unpronounceable), so it is some sort of an acronym and should be all capitalized. Isn't it ??? | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

It does however come up in my local if I simply search Scream 4, so that's not a worry to me if I want to get to the title quickly by typing it in This is not possible since Title filter only read data from Title and Original Title fields. You must have it as a Scream 4 on your Original Title field. I really don't... So I guess it is possible since it comes up by typing Scream 4 without any issues. | | | The night is calling. So I guess it is possible since it comes up by typing Scream 4 without any issues. I have it set up exactly the same way you do, and when I type Scream 4, it does not come up. It comes up when I type 'Scre', but the minute I add the 'a', it is gone. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Sort title has noting to do with Title search. |

If I just type it in the collection list, yes it jumps to "Scre4m" which kinda makes sense to use the Sorting title there. On the other hand "scre" would bring you close enough anyway. In the filter-inputs it doesn't work because, as already pointed out, the filter don't match on sort-title cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

But putting the online aside, may I ask why do you do it locally? What's your personal benefit of having a tite locally you can't find by putting in the words instinctively?
You still have the cover for a graphic representation, why put something unreadable into the title? I think it's mostly due to me never searching by title. I know my abc's so searching is going to the right letter for me. Since I don't bother searching I just put in what the film says for OT and what the cover says for title. Not a rabid fan of this but figure I might as well call it what they call it whne it suits me. On the other hand, for the Alien vs Predator films I take AVP off from sort and sort them under Alien. |
