A series I was really looking forward to getting on Blu-ray. Will order my set once I'm back from my trip, near the end of August. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I finally caved and purchased the entire series on DVD because I decided they weren't going to release on Blu-Ray. One week after my son and I finished it, they announced it. I cried a little inside. |

Btw, I picked up Stargate Universe on blu a while ago but I haven't seen it yet. How are these shows connected and do you need to watch them in any particular order? As I recall, the 3 series are only loosely connected. Atlantis begins somewhere around season 7 of SG-1, but there is little connection between them, aside from them taking place at the same time. SGU takes place sometime after Atlantis ended, but has pretty much no connection with either previous series. The timeline of the various series and movies pretty much mirrors the original release dates of them. This is all taken strictly from memory. I have watched all 10 seasons of SG-1, both follow-up movies, most of Atlantis (I missed the middle of season 5), and all of Universe. | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

I buy TV Series (yes even complete series sets) without ever seeing a single episode all the time. And I do know others that have done the same. So I agree that I would never assume if someone is buying a complete series set they are already a fan of the series. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Having recently watched all the SG series, the only connection between them is the mention of resources being tied up and unavailable in one series because of some conflict in another series and the occasional cross pollination of characters and moving of characters from one series to another when one series ended (Samantha Carter from SG to SGU for example). |

Ok, the other reason is I don't have the time to write an in-depth review of the series since it comes out tomorrow and I only received it on Thursday... Also, you are willing to pay $90-110 for a show you've never seen? Anyway, as I said, with the limited time I have the bigger focus is going to be on the video and audio -- especially since it's on Blu-ray -- and on the features. | | | Last edited: by The Movieman |

On what I put in bold... yup... done it more then once! But please don't take me wrong. I agree... focus of a review should be more on the quality and contents such as extras... maybe the packaging. Stuff like that I believe review on the actual show should be brief and very spoiler free. I was just trying to say that there is many of us that do buy (even complete) TV Series without ever watching the show. Nothing more then that. I apologize if it came out the wrong way. | | | Pete |

Fair enough... and wow on paying that much. Kudos to you, sir! I'm not sure how much I've paid for a complete series on a blind buy. Maybe Dark Angel but that was only $30-40. I did pay like $75 for the Planet of the Apes monkey head having not seen any of the POTA movies at the time, not the same as a complete series but along the same lines. |

| Posted: | | | | The last one I got without ever seeing a single episode was... Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series All Regions Released: 4/6/2010 Anamorphic 1.78 But I got very lucky on this one. As I didn't have to pay for it... was an awesome Christmas present. | | | Pete |

I got the Blu-ray set for $148 and it's currently selling for $170 . Best investment I ever made. I loved the series. I think it's one of, if not the best, Sci-Fi series ever produced. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

| Posted: | | | | I really need to get back into that series. I am still only fairly early into season 1. What I seen so far I have loved... but for some reason I set it aside and never made it back to it. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I suggest to all who purchase this set to view every episode.
I recently watched the episode "Vegas" which is on Disc 4 of Season 5, and at about 8.55 into the episode the picture breaks up into square pixels. |
