I have the Panasonic DMP-BDT100 and experienced no issues with HP7. I think the last Firmware Update was back in December of 2010 with version 1.28 for a Viera Cast update (U.S.).

Like Pauls42, I'm confused as to why anyone would purchase the SD stand-alone version of HP7, especially since the 3-disc Blu-ray includes the SD-DVD version. I guess if someone never plans to upgrade to Blu-ray then this makes sense costwise...otherwise... .

The Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack only has the bonus features included on the Blu-ray discs though. So, I guess if you only have a DVD player currently and want those...you'd need to wait to get a Blu-ray player in order to view those.

For me, it's this reason. I don't have a blu-ray player. I have bought some combo packs because I know eventually I will, but for me, I already have 6 Harry Potter movies. They all are DVDS. I'm not going to rebuy these in blu. So for me, I'd rather have the cases all look the same. Individual movies, I'm not as bad about, but this is a series and I want them to look uniform. Yes, I could buy just the 1 disc, but I do like the bonus features and am willing to spend an extra couple bucks for them.

I also do not need the digital copy. So I'd be spending 25 bucks or so for 3 discs I couldn't use and still just end up with a bare bones copy of the dvd that I could watch.

One of these days I'll be buying a blu-ray player. But until the price is right, I just have a dvd player and am happy with that.
