It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I'm 62 and grew up in a small town at a time when you could leave your doors unlocked and let your kids roam where they will. I can remember at age 8, walking to the YMCA on Saturday mornings and going to the movies after that for 25 cents. Back then, you could stay in the theater all day for one price and watch the movie until they closed if you wanted. We got our first TV in 1953 when I was 5 and I have always watched a lot of movies other than maybe when I was a teenager and discovered girls. So, if I watched an average of 2 to 3 movies a week...probably more, but I'm being conservative. I'd say around 7,000 and if I had a way to count, it would probably be at least double that.

I'm 57 and a rough guess would be about 6,000 could be more.

I'm 50+ and I simply have no clue about the number of movies I've been watching.

If memory serves me correctly, my first movie was "Bambi" in the late 1960s, watched in the cinema. The latest movie I watched was "Ao, le dernier Néandertal" on blu ray.

I still have a huge number of dvd's and blu rays in my unwatched pile...

I'm now 42 years old and electrical engineer.

Out of the 24 hours of a day I spend about 18 hours working and sleeping, so unfortunately I only could see a fistful of movies.

About 1/3rd are from all over the world, but I can safely say our beers are the best.

There is a typo in your post: you forgot the "Y"

So in fact our beers (Germany) are the best!

Tastes are different Kahless, but the variety found in Belgian beers are found nowhere else. Although, I think we may be hijacking this post with offtopic commentaries

There are many fine beers produced in many countries. Unfortunately, mass market beers ruin nearly every county's brewing reputation. I have numerous European friends who become delightedly amazed at the quality of microbreweries' beers made in many places in the USA... just as most beer lovers enjoy not just their favorites, but the joys of previously unsampled brews. This is like the New York vs. Chicago pizza arguments... and just as boring.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Whenever I visit Netflix's website, I try to rate movies I've seen.  I'm 40 and Netflix reports that I've rated 1,329 movies.

Just turned 64 today ("Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64").

Well let's see... About 600 films on VHS (discarded now), 300 on LD and (OMG!) 4000+ on DVD and Blu-ray. Add to that about half a century of movie-going (and I went a lot when I was young) and that adds up to - a whole lot!

Well, if thruth be told, I have a rather sizeable number on unwatched discs, but still
