Version 3.7 and higher automatically prompt to run a database repair if the program did not shut down normally in the prior run.  Earlier versions did not have this prompt.  An incomplete shutdown does not necessarily indicate a problem with the database - this is just a safety measure, as catching an issue early can prevent data loss.

For those who are experiencing a regular incomplete shutdown, first try running without plugins.  If the incomplete shutdown appears related to a specific plugin, please notify the developer via their site and us via a support ticket.

If the issue isn't related to a plugin, please open a support ticket and post the contents of your debuglog.txt file.  This file is in your Application Data directory, under DVD Profiler.  For instance on Windows 7, it may be at "C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\DVD Profiler". This will help us diagnose why the shutdown is incomplete.

Lou, you can run the repair utility directly from the Start menu.  If this doesn't resolve the issue, please open a ticket.

Ken, thanks so much! It was the CCV plugin. All good now. Maybe I jinxed myself. A couple of weeks ago I told my wife how great DVDP is, because it's extremely useful, but more than that," it just freakin' works"! Never any problems, then I update and. . .

Now, within minutes of posting my problem, there you are to help me through it. I understand that the "problem" is actually a good thing, so thanks for the explanation. Again, thanks for a wonderful product, and support that sets the bar higher than other companies could ever dream of reaching!
You spoil us!
