| Posted: | | | | I too have been caught in this mess. Locally, the few I have are all:
Title: Fill in the blank Collection Edition: 4 Film Favorites
The couple that I've added to the online from scratch have since been reversed with the same logic that we must match the awful choice initially made to make the online consistent.
To me, it couldn't be more obvious that this is a line of releases that collectively fall under the 4 Films line, but have next to nothing to do with each other. To me, this set of circumstances screams out "Edition", much like The Criterion Collection or even Fox Studio Classics. Of course the reason we are at this juncture is simply because of folks "taking the title directly from the cover" without applying even the smallest amount of critical thinking. |

Is "Favorite Films" part of the Title or is it an Edition?
Here's what the covers looks like.

Did they respond to PM? What is their reasoning? They sound like malicious users to me who should probably be banned from contributing. But since it seems Invelos staff has abandoned the users I guess we are on our own. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

| Posted: | | | | I could live with Title: 4 Film Favorites: Blade Collection or Title: Blade Collection, Edition: 4 Films Favorites, with a preference to the latter as another Blade collection which was not part of 4 Film Favorites would probably have more-or-less the same contents. |

I believe that is the work of the Tradings Poster plugin. That would be correct! But I forgot to click on "Make this a Poll" before hitting 'enter'. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Addicted2DVD: Quote: The thing is... it isn't always an edition just because the word Collection is there. And I believe in this case the title is The Critters Collection. As I said, I understand where you are coming from, but I can also see where the other side is coming from. I mean, 'The Critters Collection' sure sounds like a collection of films featuring critters. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Seems obvious to me that Whatever Collection is the part that actually describes the content of the DVD, so it should go into the title field. That's the important part for me.
I don't much care where you put 4 Film Favorites. Personally I put it in the edition field for my local, since I don't want them all sorted under "4". I realize that the same thing could be accomplished by using the sort field, but then they would look like they weren't sorted right if the title started with "4". But that's just a local problem... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

In that topic I proposed the title of each film in the title field and the "4 Films Favorites: Whatever Collection" part in the edition field, assuming that all the films were on one disc. That isn't the case so I'm in for: Title: Whatever CollectionEdition: 4 Film FavoritesThis for just one simple reason, the 'Whatever Collection' part is referring to the actual content of the set and '4 Film Favorites' part is the name of a complete collection of film collections. As a consensus I could live with: Title: 4 Film Favorites: Whatever CollectionEdition: -Wrong: Title: 4 Film Favorites Edition: Whatever Collection | | | Cor | | | Last edited: by Corne |

| Posted: | | | | I can't really get it from those tiny covers. Is the word collection actually printed on the cover for example in the case of "Lethal Weapon Collection" or "The Matrix Collection"?
If not, I'd vote for "4 Film Favorites: The Matrix" as title and an empty edition. |

If we're going to change that, I wouldn't mind the option of:
