In which folder is your database located? Windows protects certain directories from being modified by user accounts.

If you have it in the default location (My Documents) this is not the problem.

Have your tried running DVD Profiler as administrator, is it working then?

Problem solved. Ran a diagnostic startup and checked the database box and chose a different one from the available choices. Hope this helps someone. Thanks cvermeylen.

When I found some extra time I can try to install 3.7.0 one more time and try this trick. My hopes aren't high though.
Till that I'll stick with 3.6.1

Btw, thanks for reminding diagnostic startup feature. I had forgotten this. Now I can disable new version check and popup.

Problem solved and symptom found.
DVDProfiler 3.7.1 up and running on Win7 64bit.

Lot of people seem to have problems with 3.7.1 version.
Ken, would it be time admit that there is something changed or broke in program which is causing these errors.
This must be a record of posts related to 3.7.1 errors. In beta stage this is acceptable but not in final product.

Any how, here is some details of my adventure with 3.7.1 version.

My problem wasn't on the network settings or corrupted database (repair tool run severeal times).
But in few corrupted jpg cover images.
Don't know why these were corrupted and when.

After installation of 3.7.1 I got similar error as bbbbbb posted in here.
Error hex code was most likelly different, I don't remember that any more.

Now it generates error report. Quoted only few lines at the beginning.
Slightly different between 370 and 371 versions.

As the error reports there is some errors in images.
I run report in 3.6.1 version that shows all cover images, and noticed that few images are missing.
Now I opened images folder with windows explorer and viewed images as thumbnails (large icons in Win7).
Same thing here, few images wasn't showing correctly, only jpg-icon was shows.
Also few images were partially corrupted, only half was shown.

I replaced all these corrupted images and checked with DVDP 361 version that everything working.
After this installed 371 version (updated the old version, without uninstallation).

Now 371 version is working fine on my Win7 64bit system.

Strange thing still is that with same db backup file on 371 version worked fine on WinXP 32bit even there was these same corrupted images.

It might be that this kind of error is very rare but maybe it would be a good idea to add optional check for corrupted cover images in the database repair tool.
Fixing these images might be to difficult but at least generate report that shows which images are broken.

That line tells me that the problem is not caused by the covers but by the icons for the custom collections.
Do you use the stock images or did you get your own?
And maybe the handling of the png images is better with the 32bit version of the KERNELBASE.dll (a Windows dll by the way).
