Cheers. My photos are just taken on my everyday Kodak digital camera. I study photography though i wasn't putting much effort into them lol. The one of the park though shows some compensation with the curvature of the snow which is nice touch i guess.

I only had around 6 inches of snow in my driveway and I cleared that out in a couple of hours. The real problems aren't in the city or north of the here. Buffalo only got a few inches and north of here you can still see grass. But, surrounding suburbs south of Buffalo and the NY State Thruway are in real trouble. It all started when a tractor trailer jack knifed on the Thruway and started a log jam. This has resulted in hundreds of people and vehicles being stranded for up to 18 hours. The Thruway authority has some hard questions to answer - the situation should not have escalated the way it did - but the people seem to be doing okay. Snow mobiles and all terrain emergency vehicles have been making runs to ensure everyone is all right. Only one lady was taken to the hospital for shortness of breath but she is fine. I'm watching the local news and the stranded people are making the best of it. Food, water and gas is being delivered to those who need it. There are lots of towns that have driving bans because of the relentless pounding of snow. Lake Effects snow looks to be continuing through the night but weakening a bit by morning. One good thing is that we are not at dangerous white-out levels...yet! |

| | Posted: | | | | I was in a taxi last night from Heathrow to Southampton (three hours for a journey that normally takes an hour & a half), we passed a jack-knifed tractor-trailer on the other side (fortunately) of the M3: all three lanes blocked & traffic backed up several miles and didn't look like they would be going anywhere fast! There was another one this morning on the M27, which killed off that section of the motorway. The local colleges/universities were closed for the day so Madame & Madamoiselle Mole both had the day off, and I got to drive Madame's 4WD Audi TT to work...that was fun, very little traffic, and this year the local council had got it right - the gritters/salters had been out last night! | | | | Chris | | | | Last edited: by Mole |

| | Posted: | | | | Man, I'm in Wisconsin and you'd think we would be getting that much snow too. But we've had unseasonably warm weather so far...last week we had rain that did eventually freeze, but the next day melted. We have a trace of snow on the ground and it's finally getting colder so if we get anything it might actually stick around this time. Guess we might get up to 6 inches this weekend but we'll see. I'm just waiting for it to dump on us and end up with major problems like that. Even though we get several bad storms every year, people seem to forget how to drive on snow and how to take precautions. | | | | Lori |

I noticed a little while ago that my employee badge expires the day before the Myan calendar does. Coincidence?!? There has been talk that computer programs cease to project beyond that date. |
