| Posted: | | | | First, I am not saying that whomever was voting no had malice intent - maybe they're just a little sharp in their replies and that's just normal behavior to them and they think nothing is wrong with it.
But if there is malice behind it, doing what Kathy said may nip the behavior in the bud because it turns their negative behavior back towards them in a form they did not expect and likely does not want. |

| Posted: | | | | Another problem I can imagine is that the space for votes is way too short to give a detailed explanation. Maybe Quoting DarklyNoon: Quote: snippy, unfriendly or arrogant is not intended, but just very direct. Another thing I do sometimes with contributions for a lot of different fields (crew, cast, video format etc.) is give a "No"-vote when I spot an error in one of the fields (like overview) with an explanation of the error, but I don't vote "Yes" after the correction, because the overview has been fixed, but I haven't checked the crew or cast. And I don't feel good voting "Yes" when I haven't really checked this stuff as it *could* be just imdb-mined data. By no means I think that DarklyNoon copies imdb-data, his contributions are very good and welcome, but there were some users out there that claimed to have checked the credits, but copied imdb-data. | | | Last edited: by SpaceFreakMicha |

| Posted: | | | | I agree that the space is not sufficient so depending on the length I need to explain my no vote, it may come across as rude when I don't intend it to be that way... |

This happens to me also. All you can do is keep editing until it fits. By that time, it sometimes sounds pretty snippy. When reading no votes, just take the reason for the no note into account and forget the rest...it's not personal...at least that's how I choose to look at it. And guess what, it makes contributing a lot more fun, as this hobby is supposed to be. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
