I would change Stonebreaker to Stonebraker.

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

IMO, we should completely standardise initials without using credited as.

I would support that, yeah - there really doesn't seem to be much point in ping-ponging between "J.J. Stonebraker" and "J. J. Stonebraker [J.J. Stonebraker]", while the userbase is pretty much equally divided over which variant is seen on-screen. That kind of ping-ponging is, however, precisely what's happening here (it's the sole change the contributor is making), and it perfectly illustrates the failure of how we're supposed to handle this.

This is the same thing as the Jr/Sr Credited As filter.

That's the other thing I see absolutely no point in, since the filter standardizes it at Mr. X, Jr.  Again, it achieves nothing.  As RHo said, I want to know which actors are in the movie, and which other movies those actors are in, not what punctuation is used in the credits.

I was trying to remember what the other thing I always vote neutral on (when it's the only change) last night, but I was tired and it wasn't coming to me.  Thanks Martian.

I don't know if it has a space or not, but I would say that a contribution that does nothing but this runs afoul of this rule:

I hate when they don't commit.  While there is a space, it isn't a full space like there is between all the other names, so it could go either way.

This fits the situation most closely IMO. I would vote yes or neutral to such a change. I don't see that a definitive argument can be made against either position. This is certainly evidenced by the fact that we're on page 2 with a very split vote.

True, but as you have noted before, modern type setting allows for different wide spaces. Therefore we don't deal with space vs. no space alone and can't completely simulate the graphical aspects of the credits. IMO, we should completely standardise initials without using credited as. The same would be true for Jr., Sr. What I really want to know is which actor played which role in what movie and not what spacing, punctuation has been used.

I understand what you are saying, but there are other people who want more than that.  If we can give both groups what they want, I can live with it.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Not to mention that Ken himself set up the filters to use Credited As in such cases... so it is obviously what he intended.

Sure, I just don't do contributions like this and vote neutral on anything like this. I certainly don't ask the forum if there is a space or not in such a credit.

Despite the poll results here, the contribution changing this to "J. J. Stonebreaker [J.J. Stonebreaker]" has been accepted.
