For movie box sets no. Only list the media companies who are responsible for the box set. Studios are responsible for the movies -> Child profiles.

Studios which are valid for the entire box set should be listed.

What the Martian said? I presume that you have read the Rules for boxsets.

Have you? The problem here is, as Kathy pointed out, that the rules for box set prohibits many things to be entered into box set parent profiles, but studios isn't one of them. So per the current rules, they can indeed be entered. It's just that most of us - including me - feel that they shouldn't. But it's definitely not in the rules.

Why?  We don't do that with any other data.

Yes, we do. We add the runtime, we take the overviews, we use the rating, we take the production year of the older film, we take the country of origin. You see, we take a lot of info which is actually attached to the films (child profiles) and put it in the parent profile as well.

Yes, I have read the rules. Have you? Where is there anything stated about studios in box sets?

Locally I've set the Runtime and Production Year to zero. CoO I don't add either, besides what's the point for a CoO for a box set? Is that the country where the package has been produced ? The package of a Box set often has an overview somewhere, so that's obvious. In the region 2 area the box set is often rated, so...

As with the studios, the country of origin makes sense, if it's the same for all movies in the box, which is often the case.

You are also supporting yet another unnecessaru conditional. NO. Enough with the Conditionals already

No conditional needed! We enter the data which is valid for the entire set.

Are you talking to TheMadMartian or to me now? Have you read the answer T!M and I have given? And additionally I have given examples of film data which we explicitly add to the parent profile per the rules.

No Rho there is a Conditional, IF all the data matches use it, IF i doesn't then do this other way. That is a conditional. Like I said Studios do not Boxes, they make movies, Distribuitors make Boxes. The man does not even know what a conditional  is. <shakes head>

There is no conditional in the following: Enter all studios which are credited in every film of the box set.

Not relevant for my argument. The parent profile is not for the box only. The box has no runtime. The production year of the box is not what we track in the production year field of the parent profile. The box has no genre, yet we are allowed to assign genres to the parent profile. The box has no region code.

Yes, I do. But you have earned another red arrow with this remark.

LOl, that was joke right Rho. That's absurd, we don't have enough Studio to do what you suggested.     You are apparently assuming that a Boxset means that all Studio data will be the same, which is just not true. More importantly as Pete pointed it skews the data and screw up reporting and filtering, and boxsets are not made by the Studio.

Do I need to tell you how many red arrows you get because of your attitude. Most of the time I don't think you even know what you talking about, but you just want to create an argument, chaos and controversy. Every time.

Another one for that quote. Interestingly not a single post that I'm aware has been moderated. Can you say the same? Have you ever been temporary banned? I haven't.
