I was indeed referring to the Finnish database, which seems to be state-sponsored, public or something similar, not the Invelos one.

And whilst copying from the Finnish database may not violate the contribution rule as is, I would still recommend caution, as I already said. I would trust the Fins' database for Finnish movies, but not so sure about films with other CoO's.

Yes, the site only lists foreign movies because they have been released with finnish subtitles in Finland. The site however says that all foreign films have only the general cast/crew and that the main focus of the site is for Finnish movies. You are also right that this is state owned site, it does not anywhere prohibit the use of their data. However in Finland you dont have to specifically say something is illigal for it to be illegal. But if thats the case i can ask permission for the use of the data.

Also EVERY production firm is required to give copies of everything released here to the National Audiovisual Archive, and almost all releases must be rated by Finnish Board of Film Classification. So their database is pretty damn big, that site is their way to give that data to the general public (because, after all, its my tax money that funds it). Its also debatable if its even a third party database.

Also my initial point wasn't to give a specific movie and how to handle it. My aim was to get general guidelines. Minimum cast/crew, is it considered a valid source? Or do i have to go through they general bureaucracy of adding uncredited (which I'm not going to even try doing). Another was role names, as I've seen on many old films with no specific role names. etc. This however does not effect new Finnish movies, since those have proper credits.

So far what Ive gathered a NO for uncredited and a YES for role names?
