I have DVDs from nearly everywhere, except Region 6.  I would guesstimate roughly 75% of my collection is Region 1, 20% Region 3, and 5% Region 2.  I only have a few handful of Region 4 and 5 titles.

I can't think of a reason not be region-free if you are a film fan.  There are a ton of players that can be bought in any Brick and Mortar store that can be modded with a simple code from your remote (I bought one about two years ago for $38 at Best Buy, with 1080p upconversion, compared to the $300 I had to pay for a region-free Malata almost a decade ago).

I have a mix of region A and region B blu-rays (since my player is region A, the discs from region B are all region-free discs)

All my DVD's are region 2, a mix between Japanese and European versions

Even though they make up the bulk in my collection, I own many discs that are not Region 1. Most of the others are Region 2 and 4.

I have only one title that has Region 5 coding, and none for Region 6.

I own mostly german RC2-DVDs and german "Region B" BluRays, but I have also have a few US-RC1 DVDs (i.e. "The Shield" Season 1-7), a handful of RC3 Thai DVDs and the beautiful UK-Blu-ray set of "Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series".

I only have about 30 non-RC1-USA discs, but it's a significant part of my collection to me. They're from UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Australia. My BD's are all Region A so far.

My favorite thing about non-RC1-USA discs are that they come without the mass of stickers sealing the case!

DVD Regions 1,2,4 and Blu-Ray B, from 12 different localities and movies itself from 30 different CoO's.

I would love to see Skippy's statistics since he's so happy to join every conversation, even when issues has nothing to do with "Hollywood", "R1" or U.S. Laws.

It's a "knee high" white christmas in central Finland and I wish Merry Christmas for all of you movie fans and DVD "freaks".

Where do you get your different regions from?

Mine is a combination of travelling, ordering online, but a good chunk comes from trading with friends from other countries. (Meaning I'll buy what they want here in the States, and they buy what I want on their side.)

DVD
Mostly R2 localities Dutch & UK mainly, a handful of  France, Germany, Sweden.
About 10% of my collection is R1
I also have a handful R4 dvd's.

Blu-Ray:
Mostly Region B - UK and Dutch
A few region free US releases. I managed to purchase 1 Region A title, so I might replace my region free DVD player with a Region A Blu-Ray player.

Nobody has any region 6 DVD's so far, with only one exceptionh.  That was the region I was curious about because I wanted to know if there were any good region 6 only DVD's.

As I am now mostly collect Blu Ray's .. Ehrm

Well most of my BD's come from the UK (Region B)

When I am sure that they are Regionfree I get them from the US (Region A)

As for DVD's

even though I live in Austria, where we have Region 2

the majority of my DVD's is Region 1 (USA)

I also got a couple of Region 3 and 4

I have 2 DVDs that have regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (so not R1). Curiously enough, they are both in the NTSC format.

No other multi-region DVDs that I have include R6. That is excluding the region-free DVD's of course.

Many Chinese DVDs produced for the Chinese market appear to be R0 rather than R6. It would appear that the Chinese don't think highly of export restrictions. Neither do I. Delayed theater releases are just an excuse for a mechanism that enables higher prices abroad.
