The lead Art Director should get credited - he is an Art Directer after all. This perfectly illustrates the need to update the chart. I would include him - writing in the contribution notes his exact role - and let the screeners decide.

We can agree all we want, but until the rules get amended we are stuck with "Art Director" and "Supervising Art Director".

This thread should in my opinion be closed and moved to Contribution Rules Committee if the intention is to get a rules revision...

IMO Lead Art Director is a functional equivalent of Supervising Art Director. Maybe he could get a credit as a direct translation. Another reason to change the rules to allow functional equivalents and role name variants.

Enough with the functional equivalents. They cannot be defined. They would require an arbiter. Who is that...you? No thanks. Me? I will not serve, this community has already taken enough from me, thank you.

All we can do is what we do, produce a list based on the knowledge which we possess at the time and then as we find Hollywood creativity, we then press Ken, as here, that this should probably be included.

We have plenty of arbiters they are the voters and screeners. As with every contribution you have notes and they can make their decision based on this. However I agree this is a rule change issue. I should like to see some kind of organic database rather than asking Ken to update the chart every so often because that just means that each change, potentially means that every title needs to be revisited, to see what new cast to credit. At least if we have functional equivalents it can be decided on a case by case basis.

Oh goody, grave, let the users decide what a functional equivalent is and is not and then let the voters and screeners sort it out. Exactly the kind of nightmare the Rules are trying to avoid. We have been down that road already and it's a mess.

How can you tell? Has Invelos given you some inside info that we don't have?

It works perfectly for foreign film credits with the direct translation rule. Why should it not work for English credits?

There is at least one role listed for every line (in the Role column). Some of them are not as common as others though.

There is only one role, the Profiler role, listed in the Role column.  Clearly, if you follow the entire thread, we are talking about the 'credited as' column.

Come on gang, if the online DB is opened up to whatever branch someone wants, it would become virtually useless in a short period of time. Remember, with all the layouts, reports and plugins available you have the ability to make your local DB do or be whatever you want. We need to keep the online locked down or pretty soon it wouldn't be worth having. This is our hobby and I can assure you, I really don't want what makes the most sense for you, I want what makes sense to me and that is my local. Honestly, most of the time you guys act like a bunch of 1st graders who just had their candy stolen. Move along, there's nothing to see here. Sorry for the rant.
