If the sets have (like stated) a unique UPC I would enter them as boxset. Just out of curiosity... is this "1 Pixar Film + 1 Pxar Short Film" card just on the front's bottom oder does it also show on the back?

At least you have to pay for these

Paying for DVDs? I've never heard of this concept before. Why would someone do that?

Just kidding of course.

It's on the back too. It covers the entire back, so if you look at it from the side, it sorta looks like a "J".

Per the rules, this is a box set, but I personally wouldn't enter it as such.

What defines a box set is not what holds them together.

The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film.

Technically if you wanted to enter them as a box set you could using the new UPC as the Parent.  Picture should look like how they are sold with out the outer plastic.

With that being said I wouldn't enter these as box sets.

Agreed.

What I would find interesting is: What reason do those 30 (at the moment) voters have that said it's not a boxset? Sadly no-one of them gave a reason yet.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

This is where I stand on the subject. Per the rules, it seems to me it falls under the box set formula but I personally would just throw the package away and enter in the 2 DVDs individually in my database. But that's me.

I'm with T!M & Vittra, per the rules these are box sets.  But I wouldn't enter them that way.
