As I completely agree with Skip and others for IMDB mining,, It is and always is the first site I report to when  I am looking for something,, and they are are not as Bad as some report for being least accurate, far from it., If that were the case IMDB would not be as prevalent a tool as it is.
You want to know what 1987 movie starred john Travolta , you go to IMDB. if you just Googled that question in search engine it would still direct you to IMDB again..I must check into IMDB a dozen times a week., and have never been dissatisfied with the results.

... and if other sites are scrapping /mining information from IMDB  I have never heard of any type of lawsuit either now or pending..

I don't wish to argue with you but IMDbs own words

"Robots and Screen Scraping:
You may not use data mining, robots, screen scraping, or similar data gathering and extraction tools on this site, except with our express written consent as noted below. "

They used NO qualifier that in any way indicates that you can scrape their data as long as it is personal. Can yiou copy their data for personal use...YES....Can you scrape or use any data mining tool...NO.

What does that mean, the way I read it, it means you have to type the data in from IMDb, MAYBE you could Copy and Paste line by line...but they might consider that scraping....though for personal use i am not sure i would sweat that, to put it simply I think that they would do themselves no PR favors by trying to argue that Copy and Paste is a data mining tool. But as I read it any scraping or data mining is a big No-No, not matter the usage, unless they give express written consent.

It's their words, not mine, and they are clear...to me. Even thoughit is a UK based company and we all know the Brits can't spell.

I had feeling cosmos the little green alien on Skips shoulder would pop up and preform his usual a hole licking dutys.

I wonder if you get a prize for giving out so many red arrows.

All data from imdb is available for download, though, and it's possible to use it for private purposes.

http://www.imdb.com/interfaces/

I have an import in my "Cinematic Collection Viewer" program for these data files. But this data files do not include cast and crew data for movies. Only trivia, plot, alternate version, mpaa rating etc.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by this data not including cast and crew. The IMDb-data is pretty complete. Cast is divided between actors.list and actresses.list. Crew is in several different files: directors.list, producers.list, writers.list, etc.

Only the small minded would assume I am here to support Skip.  As I said in another thread, any insulting or disrespectful post...no matter who it is from...will be getting red arrows.  If enough people do it, maybe the people who offer nothing constructive to the community will be pruged from the forums.

Oh, and for the record, I have given out all my greens for the day.

No doubt, I made one in the post you quoted, but your spelling mistake doesn't allow me to decipher your meaning.
