I just brought over my collection from 2.5 and have started goin through and "fixing" the flagged titles that didn't match up righ. Most have been pretty easy to fix. Simply inserting the disc into the PC has usually done it. A few needed to be ontributed. But now I am getting into the rough ones. For instance, My Father is a Hero is in my collection. It is a Tai Seng Video Marketing film that is now better known as Jet Li's The Enforcer. However the packaging is 100% different, as is the description of the movie. (Gotta love that part.) The Original title was Gei ba ba de xin. And now there are multiple "new" titles. Even worse, 3.0 tells me I cannot submit y copy as the UPC cannot be verified. And inserting the disc desn't help any, because the title isn't in the database for it to be linked to by Disc ID.

Using UPC os ASIN seem to be a "no dice" sort of thing.

I fear with the number of Asian films I have that many of my flags will fall into this category as I sift through more and more titles.

Thoughts?
Suggestions?
Help?

I'm just wondering, now  that people have started contributing, is there a way to check what in my local database is in the online and what's not ?

I'd love to help but I don't want to contribute some stuff that's already there !

The released ones will have the update icon highlighted, if you don't spot this, then when you hit submit the cover scan tick box will not have a tick in it. If you do end up submitting on these it will take you to the notes page.

For those accepted, but not released, all you can do is check the notes page (click the notes link from the contribution section of the website) to see if there is a previous submission, after you've submitted them.

I can't find the "highlighted update icon" feature!

It's in the General Info window, on the right side of the Region logo, Locality and UPC.

How long until a contribute profile shows up?
I've submitted tons of my old profiles for movies that you don't have in the database... about 70 to be exact and they aren't showing up yet... if i try to refresh them they error our downloading, so I'm assuming that means they aren't live... they also don't show up on my online collection... as in the cover scans aren't there...
what is the turnaround for this?

You can seen in My Profiler->Contributions what the status of your uploads are. In my experience it takes a day to get accepted. Gerri is working very hard at it.

I have been uploading profiles every day from the 16th of this month.  They normally take (as MarcCastermans stated) a day to be accepted/declined.  However the contributions I sent on the 20th are still showing received.  I don't know if there is a delay in processing  the profiles or if there is a problem with my contributions as there is no indication (as with 2.4/2.5) of the date processing has been done.

Can anybody confirm whether profiles submiited on the 20/21 have been processed.

So, Country of Origin, since it is listed with the DVD info I assumed it was for the DVD itself--as stated on the DVD or case. Manufactured in the US, vs. manufactured in Japan and released in the US (some of my kaiju DVDs). Or does it refer to the original film, and in that case how is that determined? (Lord of the Rings, New Zealand vs US?, Rocky Horror UK vs US?)

What is the intent of this field?

Thanks.

ADDED LATER:

Ah, now that I spelled my search right (oops) I found the other discussion threads. Think I'll just step back until agreement is reached.
