The problem as I see it is a simple judgement call and as i said i have seen a number of these the last few weeks, that I disagree with the judgement, but I can also SEE the room for the ijnterpretation, I do not try and insert myself as some sort of print expert, nor do I come here and whine about it. I let the judgement stand but i keep my judgement local.

It looks to me that the text is bolder than the rest. Rick has an agenda with this just as he does with everything and he is certainly not an expert when it comes to fonts. God help us IF we ever add color typefac, I can just see James AND Rick voting No because you used the wrong shade of Salmon, don't wnat colors, don't need colors. But we also don't NEED the childish actions of a Rick, to involve everyone instead of just the people who have the title somewhere in their collection, and then uses that to support a No viote despite ...oh well I don't need to repeat myself.

The point is goblins that to me it still looks to be bolder face and to me it looks to be very obvious, but it's not worth fighting about anymore than listening to Rick has any value. What is pathetic is auser that Contributes nothing to the Community except sniping and back-biting, but has Contributed maybe a half dozen Profiles since March 0f 2007, in other words he sits on the sidelines and on his hands and pretends that he knows how to coach a football team. Well it's high time for him tio get off the sideline and into the game, let's see what he's got, likely not very much.

It is truly sad for to discover the last few weeks the pathetic state of the database, I thought we were in much better shape. Then to watch users attemp to hide behind the CLT in order to preserve illegal (uncredited) data instead of allowing it to be modified, now fortunately the screeners saw thre wisdom , the user also incorrectly cited CLT results in order to try and preserve his illegal data, the most common name was NOT what he claimed it was. Instead of forcing p[eople  to remove undocumented (uncredited) they will allow it and they treat the data as sacred if someone removes it, undocumented data is BAD DATA and should be removed PERIOD, no data is sacred. (Uncredited) data should NOT simply be copied over into a new Profile unless YOU can provide documentation supporting it in the NEW profile...oh well I digress, and it isn't worth it.

You're correct here, it's a matter of personal judgement. The rest should have been a matter of the validating process.
Definitely no need for a thread.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The whole reason for the thread was out of personal animus and desire on the part of the user involved to manipulate the Online to HIS way. But that's OK, he is allowed to be a jerk. It may be distatsteful but it is certainly not illegal.

The part of his NO vote that I found both hilaruious and insulting at the same time was that he stated that color had nothing to do with Bold, which of course is correct and I made no mention of the color of the typeface, I simply see part of it as BOLDER, the actors names are just a different color of the same size and font. So as I said, I found his reference to color to be hilariously funny and extreemely insultinfg at the same time and for the same reason...RED HERRING which had nothing to do with  the Contribution except in his own mind.

53 voter agree with my no vote, 4 voters agree with your submission. How can you (or anyone) look at those numbers and say I am trying to manipulate the online to match MY preferences?!?

Those of you out there who continuously buy into the "james and rick (and others) are against me, all I want is what's best for everyone" crap really should open your eyes.

You can't handle the truth.       Boy talk about predicytable, oh well he set it up all I can do is knock it over.

Rick, with all due respect, amigo and after all these years, you still don't get it. Your focus is unbelievably narrow, but it is why you have never gotten it and never ever will. I am sorry, pal but it justt isn't going to happen, I wish it were possible. But...not gonna happen and THAT is truly a pity. I could even explain exactly why, Rick, but that is far beyond your ken as well
Trying not insult you, but calling it like i see it.

FWIW my "focus" as you put it is enjoying the addictive hobby of collecting DVDs, nothing more. That's how I found this place, as did most everyone else I would guess.

You write nothing but insults and then preface it with "with all due respect" and you're "trying not to be insulting but you call it like you see it"? Basically you are saying if only I wasn't so stupid you wouldn't have to insult me?!?

I have never claimed to be the smartest person in the world although I do consider myself above average. I have never had the need to belittle someone I thought wasn't as smart as I am as you continuously do. It's actually quite pathetic if you ask me. Those who truly are smarter and better than others typically don't have to profess it as it is usually obvious to anyone else involved.

I have tried contributing, I don't like it. I find it monotonous, boring and not fun. Fortunately for me I also don't have to do it. It is not a requirement of the program. There are many who find it enjoyable. That doesn't make them better then me (or others who like me don't contribute profiles). If everyone stopped contributing then I would have to do the work myself or more likely move on to another software. For me it's about collecting and displaying my DVDs. Most of the information in the program I don't need or use.

I tried blocking you... have you ever tried to read a forum where one out of every four posts in the entire forum is blocked?!? And of those readable posts about half of them are "debating" with you. With the exception of the 'what have you bought', 'lolcats & dogs', and the joke thread the forum is unreadable.

I've tried avoiding the forum completely. Unfortunately I also began to loose contact with a very good friend of mine who's passion is movies and DVDs. I enjoy being to share our combined hobby even though I'm don't quite share his passion and, since he is here daily, so am I.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I guess it's back to reading every other post and looking at pictures of cats and dogs. It really sucks how one bully can run so free and ruin things for so many.

And, once and for all, I am NOT your "amigo". The day you attacked my wife and her illness here in these forums was the last day there was ever a chance of being "amigos"

To any new people reading this dribble, get used to it. the Jubal vs. Somebody arguments are a daily occurrence around here. The "somebody"  changes frequently but the Jubal part is consistently on the other end of it.

If only more of us were as smart as he was maybe then all would be good again. Maybe then we could see how 53 - 4 is a vote for a personal preference.

Definitely no need for a thread.

Rick had a question about a contribution.  He came to the Contribution Discussion forum to get the opinions of other users.  Maybe I missed something, but I thought that is exactly what this forum was for.

Since I was one of the voters supporting your "No"-vote, I think this question is allowed:
What exactly was the purpose of this thread??
Originally I understood it as a question you had concerning a planned contribution of yours (just like many other users do if they are not sure what to do).
Soon I learned that it was the usual "Hey look, Skip's got something wrong ... AGAIN"-thread.

And if you're trying to deny your personal vendetta on Skip: Just check your postings on this forum, you'll have to go a long way back to find something that's not a direct (or barely hidden) attack on Skip (or one of his assumed supporters), I think I found something on page three.

Mind you: I'm not saying that you started it, because I don't know who started it and I really couldn't care less.
But [put in non-insulting deity here]-dammit, one of you should be man enough to stop this bickering.

We all are making this forum a barely bearable place, but there are four or five users here who really got a bit over the top.
At least I cannot stand this advanced kindergarden any longer and hereby announce that my red arrow moratorium has ended. Direct attacks no matter from whom on whom will now be followed by a red arrow and if enough users do so too, we'll probably clean this out.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

As I said, originally I thought that this was a question concerning a planned contribution of Rick, because he might have been unsure how to handle this special problem.
While I think that this is exactly what the forum is for, I don't think that it's existing to pillory the possible faults of a single user.
This is what we have the evaluation process with it's ability to vote "No" for. If you disagree with a contribution vote "No", if you need more space to explain your "No"-vote send the contributor a PM.

Based on the first post, I assumed it was a voting question...turns out I was correct.  I had no idea this was a contribution from Skip.  In fact, there is no way anybody could have known...other than the people who own it...that it was a contribution from Skip.

Are there vendettas going on here?  Possibly, but if there are, they go both ways.  If you hammer one side, you have to hammer both.  Speaking for myself, I have decided to ignore all the personal crap and stick to the issues.

I agree with TheMadMartian (by the way..love the new name!) On both counts... I figured this was a question on how to vote... and no idea it was a contribution of Skip's. And also agree that I do my best to stay away from all the personal crap here... and deal only with the issues. I refuse to take sides.

I stayed out of it because I considered it a an utterly useless manipulation, but the I saw people start making comments like "We can probably guess who this is", so it wasn't quite a blind as you thought.

I have nothing against any user, despite what you might think, as I have said before I have neither the time, the enrgy or the desire to carry one. I feel sorry for those users that just feel they have to follow someone around and snipe at them, they must be very miserable people to carry around suh hatred for so long, and it is hatred. The only thing that I can feel, for any of these people is pitty for what must be truly a miserable existence and the instant of anger I feel when the assault me or someone else, fortunately for me I can let that go very quickly, so hatred will never be able to concume me the way I see it doing in some. You have my pity, but I willnot excuse the behavior.

jeepeer creepers, are you now saying that if it is a question on a contribution of Skips it is not allowed to be asked?

I had a question CAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO VOTE. I asked to community what they thought and voted accordingly. I admit I have had questions about Skips contributions that I have brought to the forums before. The majority of the time my opinion was in line with the community. Somehow that makes me the bad guy. And because he is once again proven wrong that too is my fault?!? Un happy funtimeing believable

To my good friend (and you know who you are) I hope we do not loose contact but other than you and a few others here who's company I usually enjoy there is not other reason to visit. And the grief I get for being here simply isn't worth it.

I swear if there were a way to close my account for good I would do it right now.

The forum is the appropriate place for this type of question and poll. I often have questions and would hope that no one takes them personal.
