During my lifetime I registered only two programs.

The other one is DVB Viewer.

Both fight for the Users.

BTW, Dave, with 400,000 plus titles in the database I don't think we are hurting for contributions. But Ken made some changes in the business model, thta frankly needed to be made, he does have a family to feed, just as we all do. (in one form or another) Free doesn't put food on the table.

Also you talk about titles you add manually, which implies that these are titles which you recording, not purchasing innstores. Such titles are NOT contributable and can ONLY be entered manually. The onkly titles which can Contributed are thiose titles which have been purchased in a store or through a legitimate e-tailer, that have either a UPC/EAN or a Disc ID. You are also not alolowed to Contribute UPCs which are fictional, if you do spend the money, my first recommendation to you would be to carefully read our Contribution Rules.

Skip

No I'm talking about legitimate DVDs that I have bought, rare dvds or just a DVD that doesn't match the DVDs listed EAN code. I remember adding a Billy Connolly stand up dvd and some box sets I've had that were not in the database etc.

Fair enough about the restrictions, shame but guess I will just have to live with it as its unlikely I will be buying the software. I can live with the features available in the free version.

Until you get to 50 titles.  I don't know what you do after that.

I'm unclear too as to what you get after 50 ?,, I think you can put as many titles as you want into your data on your PC but you can't upload for security safety in case of PC malfunction, and also you won't be able to 'update'  your collection ( past 50) for newer data..    ??

Back in April my house was burglarized and not only did the thief (thieves) get my new tv, they threw my guitar on my bed and used the guitar case to load up on dvd's. And while I'm really good at knowing what I have and what I don't at 2500+ titles now it would've driven me insane trying to figure out what was missing. by having my collection profiled I was able to print out a list and spend a few hours going through my collection and narrowing down to 89 titles missing. I moved these out of my owned listings and into my wantlist and have spent the last few months replacing them. I am back to the point where I know what I have in my collection and what I need to replace. If you don't believe everyone else saying you won't regret spending the $30 believe me. It paid for itself not only financially since I was able to tell my insurance exactly what was stolen, but mentally because now I still know what I have in my collection.

multiple database would be a possibility, with scripting even backup and export to XML would be feasible.
