Battle Royale (two different releases, both probably boots)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (original release & the bonus disc with the remake)
Alexander (theatrical & final cut)
Daredevil (theatrical & director's cut)
I don't generally keep more than one edition of a film, unless I see a compelling reason, such as different cuts of the film, or different subtitle or dubbing tracks. I simply don't have the space. The press of space may make me consider having to slow the acquisition of DVDs, and that is a sad, sad thing.

| | Posted: | | | | I just thought of another triple dip: Daredevil. I have the original DVD, the director's cut and the Blu-ray. It's not even a good movie. It's more of a demostration of studio interference gone horribly wrong. |

I believe almost all of us here on invelos does not have enough room for his/her movie collection  Ontopic: Inadvertently I got two copies of 'Iron Monkey'. One standard edition and one came as a bonus disc by another movie. In my opinion I own this movie two times to many  The movie 'Goodfellas' I bought 3 times. The first is a two sided dvd in a snapper. Second one is a single side dvd (couple years later) and recently the third one I bought the BR version of 'Goodfellas'. |

I think my record is "Dune" with about 5 different versions I owned at one time or another. Currently I own 2 (Theatrical and TV cut). | | | Karsten

I'd check out DVDBeaver and look at those comparison screenshots and decide I just had to have the latest version of X because of some minor improvement. Over the years, I've noticed that I often times can't actually see this great improvement. Mainly because I never actually run the two versions side-by-side.
I'll still do the occasional double-dip, but I need to have a very good reason for it. Typically, stupendous features or recovered footage. More often than not, what I have is "good enough". | | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

The only thing I'd tag as "insane" is buying the exact same disc/content just for different packaging. so by buying the same exact Beetlejuice movie just one has cardboard case and other the normal plastic keep case, that's insane? you're probably right! i just hate those cardboard cases, don't have the heart to get rid of any movies!!  |
