OK. I've only tried 'contributing' those DVD's in my collection that don't appear in the data base. I've lifted a lot - but not all - info from the cover. I've guessed a couple of things... Country of Origin for example. Assumed UK because it has BBC, UK Film Council, UK Lottery etc mentioned - however... now just looked at the movie itself and it seems it could be an Australian movie! Albeit film 'on location' in the UK.

I'm gonna jump! Thanks for your help. Country of Origin (CoO) is based on where the Studios come from. As it currently stands for DVD Profiler purposes, everything else is irrelevant. Some Studios such as the big ones (Universal, Paramount, etc...) it's easy to know. For smaller Studios you may need to look up their official page to determine where they're from. |

You'll have to check out the film's credits to find out the production studios. The country in which these studios are based is the CoO. |

By "third-party database" s/he is likely referring to the fact that if you contributed cast or crew to the profile you said you took them from the cover. The only acceptable source for the cast & crew data is the film credits. I don't know that's what the reason is, but I feel its likely because when I first started contributing I did this and got the same message and wondered what the heck was up because I hadn't gone to a "third party database" (i.e. IMDB) but had taken the credits off the cover.
