Where I grew up and still reside (SE Michigan), we call them water-bugs which wasn't even an answer. I went with potato as it's the other term I've heard. I ended up "40% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee" even though I use a lot of southern slang (ya'll, coke, etc.), mostly from my girl being from Atlanta and rubbing off on me. |
