Yes it does so, you can define also rules, and it shows what it will change, look good before you execute the syncing, and have the time for both computers synchronise regulary with the timeservers thruogh your Operating system  Well, I was playing with this last night. I had it to sync automatically when it detected a file change (and with a delay of 5 mins) but nothing happened (it didn't detect anything). But I did a manual check and it detected the changes. I.e when I tested adding one profile - nearly 40 MB's of files came up as needing to be copied.  I'm a little disappointed by the size of the transfer. I can imagine doing a handful of tweaks in a evening, each one of which would trigger this transfer.  | | | | Paul |

That is anyway the amount that would travel over you're network back and forward using sync or direct use of the database on your vista computer? Yes, I found about 40 MB. (The location of course is different for me since I moved the database to the E drive). | | Posted: | | | | Oh good.. I'm getting the error again on my desktop PC even though I've been syncing the databases between the laptop / desktop and not going across the network updating the files directly.
And I enjoy the small delay whilst the actors database gets synced across the network - all 300+ mb. | | | | Paul |

| | Posted: | | | | Well, it's all sorted out now. I did further investigation when I found that any custom genres were being silently ignored. I.e. I would apply them to profiles, shut down dvd profiler, bring it back up - new genres were missing. When I tried deleting the file (so I could try and re-create it) I got a locking error. I back up my data every night - and the program I use had apparently locked this single file so it couldn't be written to etc. Annoyingly the lock seems to have lasted a week even though other files were being backed up automatically each night. Alls well, that ends well. Thanks again for the help I got - it enabled me to run down the solution.  | | | | Paul |
