Yes, and exactly in that case they should use different computer accounts anyways. Remember, 3.x writes the data (most of it anyways) in the Userdirectory because the other users shouldn't have access to it. So an extra password protection for the Profiler seems superflous to me. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

At work, I'm running Windows 2000 but have no Admin rights so I cannot create any user account.
It is also a shared computer used by other person when I'm off.
And the last thing is that at the moment, I have access to the USB ports, but in few days this will be disabled for security reasons.
So at this time, I won't have any other way to protect the access to the program itself than entering a password (putting aside the fact that someone can browse the hard disk to delete files of folders).
An as I requested, this password will be OPTIONAL. It is up to you to use it or not. There as so many functions in DVDProfiler that I find useless or that I will never use. But if they are included, it means that Ken or other users have found them useful. Some may use them daily or appreciate them, and I will never ask to remove them.
To make a comparison, it is known that most of Word/Excel users are only using 10% of these software possibilities. But the 90% "unused" functions are there, in case of... | | | Registered: October 27, 2000 |

I'm not arguing against the password (not for it, for that matter), so this is slightly off topic, but... You have a shared computer where they are even going to block access to USB ports for security reasons, but they let you share one login? Sounds totally ass-backwards to me... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

Sounds totally ass-backwards to me... Not entirely shocking, I think... By the use of a USB stick, malicious code could be loaded into the computer. Several employees sharing the same login should not have that sort of risk. It feels still odd though, I agree. If one is talking about security, then they sure would want to be able to track which user did what, which only works with separate logins. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan.
