Wow! Shocked to hear that Steve Jobs has died. While I never was in to anything Apple related, one can't deny what he has done for the computer & smartphone industries. R.I.P. Steve!

RIP Steve. Your insight and brilliance will be sorely missed.

I knew he'd been fighting cancer and that he'd passed the baton of CEO to another but still...it's hard to take. Goes to show you that you can have all the money and power in the world but it still won't stop that horrid beast we call cancer. I just lost my dad to it less than a month ago so this hits home.

Sorry to hear about your dad, 8ballMax.  Condolences.

RIP to Steve Jobs as well, love or hate Apple, he definitely changed the way we connect to each other.

A great loss. His insight resulted in so many innovations in computers and technology, the way, how and who could use them. I remember the early battles between some users. As he wished, he brought computers into
everyones life.

Let us not forget that he was also the co-founder of, IMHO, the best studio...PIXAR.

I just bought my first I-phone 4 today at 12 noon.. and within a few hours with me learning the touch  keys and the overall  operation of this wonderful Apple product  .. It was reported heavily of the loss of Steve Jobs  on every news outlet..
I felt honored that I bought my first apple product on the day Steve Jobs left us.....

RIP  Steve

I've owned several iPods but those are the only Apple products I've used. Never liked their love for proprietary systems...

My first computer was an Apple II (or Apple ][ if we go by the logo).
Haven't gone for Apple stuff much after that, but there's no denying that Steve Jobs was a very influential man, and that it'll be really hard to fill his shoes. RIP, Steve!

My first computer experience was an Apple II and it amazed me that I could make this box of wires do stuff.

I've been in a love affair with computers ever sense.

RIP Steve Jobs.  iSad.

He did not support B-rD, and his movie trailers always had an annoying commercial overlay.

A profit maximizing manager, though, and cancer is never nice.

Until the iPod and iPhone (which I've never owned either) I never cared for Apple products. I've dealt with almost every home system over the years, and the Mac was just never to my liking except when getting down to the programming level. It was a lot more friendly to me than BASIC back in the day.

But still, he created a business empire -- while often standing on Gates' shadow -- that have made significant changes to the technological parts of people's lives.

My condolences to you as well, 8ballMax. While my father has a boat load of his own issues, I can only imagine what that was like.
