Hey all,

Another common name topic for your pleasure... Art director, costume/production designer Suttirat [Anne] Larlarb.
Currently the score is 9/107 vs. 9/138, but with an added note that Garfield and Garfield: The Movie are counted as 2 separate entries, and there's an Alfie Collection (which should be treated as a boxset).

Suttirat Larlarb (5 confirmed) :
127 Hours (confirmed by me)
Beastly (confirmed by Merrik)
Garfield: The Movie (confirmed by Pantheon)
My Sassy Girl (confirmed by TheMovieman)
The Namesake
The Savages (confirmed by Merrik)

Suttirat Anne Larlarb (4 confirmed):
Alfie (confirmed by Merrik, although the validity is still unclear... See post below)
The American (confirmed by me)
Ash Tuesday
The Extra Man
Peacock
Slumdog Millionaire (confirmed by me)
Sunshine (confirmed by me)

Incorrect entries:
K-Pax (confirmed by bbbbb)
The Skeleton Key (confirmed by Pantheon and TheMovieman)

Awesome! After doing a couple of audits in the past week and coming across this one, I was going to try and start a common name thread this weekend, so this rocks!

Almost all the ones I own you guys have already confirmed, but here's a few more:

Beastly: Suttirat Larlarb
The Savages: Suttirat Larlarb
Alfie: Suttirat Anne Larlarb

(Some may call into question the Alfie credit. The credit falls under the header: "New York Production Staff". There are three headers in the closing credits. 1) "The Production Staff" where most of the crew credits as we track them fall. 2) "The Post Production Staff" which includes some sound credits, some VFX credits. 3) "New York Production Staff" which includes an art director credits, a production sound mixer credit a SPX coordinator credit some costume credits... Technically this last credit is what I think we'd consider unit crew, but again, technically, it's not listed as such, so I do believe it should be good to go)
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

I hope at some point location units will be allowed. IMO, they seem to be different than the 2nd Unit crew and I've noticed that there are crew members in the location units that have worked in the primary crews as well.

But correct, she's not included for that one.

I don't see her on my Skeleton Key profile.
I did not audit it myself, but it has been audited by a trusted name so I think it's good. Probably another "unit" credit.

Yep. Just checked and she's credited in the New Orleans Unit.

The Namesake as Suttirat Larlarb (Art Director)
Hardy

Currently the score is 9/118 vs. 9/144, but with an added note that Garfield and Garfield: The Movie are counted as 2 separate entries, and there's an Alfie Collection (which should be treated as a boxset).

Suttirat Larlarb: 6 confirmed
127 Hours (confirmed by me)
Beastly (confirmed by Merrik)
Garfield: The Movie (confirmed by Pantheon)
My Sassy Girl (confirmed by TheMovieman)
The Namesake (confirmed by awilbohk)
The Savages (confirmed by Merrik)

Suttirat Anne Larlarb: 6 confirmed
Alfie (confirmed by Merrik, although the validity is still unclear... See post above)
The American (confirmed by me)
Ash Tuesday
The Extra Man (confirmed by awilbohk)
Peacock (confirmed by awilbohk)
Slumdog Millionaire (confirmed by me)
Sunshine (confirmed by me)

Incorrect entries:
K-Pax (confirmed by bbbbb)
The Skeleton Key (confirmed by Pantheon and TheMovieman)

So, it seems that the dealbreaker is Ash Tuesday.... anyone?

We've been around that block many, many times before, and it's clear we won't reach a consensus without input from Ken. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like we're going such input.

The strange thing here is that the "K-Pax" credit is fiercely dismissed as invalid, while 'Alfie' gets a semi-tentative listing. While it's both the exact same credit: not part of the main unit, but of an additional New York unit. So while we're not going to solve the basic question about these unit credits here, I'd at least expect to see them treated the same way within one single common name-finding thread...

I did not confirm K-Pax to be incorrect!

I just confirmed the credit:

-- x --
K-PAX:

new york unit
...
art director    SUTTIRAT LARLARB
...
-- x --

And then asked:

-- x --
"Do not enter unit crew"?

You're right. I haven't been consistent throughout. The same discussion arose in this one too. And you're right about needing a statement from Ken about this. The wording of some of the rules still leave too much room for discussion. And for the sake of keeping this topic er... on-topic  , I'd like to leave it at that.

My answer would be: "Do not enter unit crew".

Does that explain it for you?

I can't remember which film, but I do remember one where there is no 'main unit' Crew. Only something like 'New York Unit' and 'Las Vegas Unit' where all the credits for make-up, costume and production design (etc.) can be found.

What would happen in that situation? Is one of these aforementioned controversial films the one I'm thinking of?

Clarify in the overview that I just confirmed the actual credit, not its incorrectness.
