Just got mine today. I noticed the profile doesn't have discIDs yet.

Here are the ones from mine, along with a couple other fields to ID the profile that came down when I entered the UPC: (I can delete this post if not needed - I'm sure somebody is working on this, but maybe doesn't have the BD discIDs yet)

(Deleted ... not needed, per tweeter. I'll be looking forward to that profile update!!!)

It's a box set so it's not supposed to have disc IDs in the main (parent) profile.

KinoNiki is correct.  I submitted an update earlier today to add the links to the child profile discs for the films.

The child profiles were submitted Sunday by ruineddaydreams and approved yesterday and are available to download.  I've submitted an update for each child profile which includes the appropriate disc info.

(The child profile images are going to be a bear!  Lots of black and dark bronze/copper/gold tones.  And reflective!  They didn't scan worth a damn for me.)

Copying a section of the XML was easy for me to upload as part of a post. You wouln't actually use it in that form. I have noticed that sometimes a BD submission has all the movie info but sometiems lacks the BD diskID, because some poeple don;t have a way to read a BD disc on a PC. That was all, I was expecting that one would just copy and paste the 6 BD diskIDs into the disc information of the profile. All the rest of that suff was just for context and convenience and was extranneous to the main purpose. Sorry for the confusion. Actually, I guess I can just edit that post down to save space, since its not needed, right?

(now you see why I don't even try to make contributions ...  )

I have on occasion copied Cast/Crew from a profile and pasted it into a text editor and seen the XML.  I would then edit it and paste it back to the profile.  This was relatively easy because of the right click menu options to copy and paste the Cast/Crew.

I didn't realize it was an option for other sections of the profile as well.

OMG I think I must have caused some kind of confusion. I'm not even sure what you are talking about (maybe cast/crew editor?), so I definitely had not intended any sort of automated copy/paste. I was just trying to supply some discIDs, thats all, no more. Darn I'm always messing up in the the contributions area - when will I learn?

Let's try it again.  You obviously incorporated the disc IDs into your profile then somehow extracted the XML version of that information which you pasted into a forum post.

I was simply curious about
a) how and from where did you extract that information in XML format and
b) had i wanted to how would i have taken the XML you provided and inserted it into a profile?

(Regarding cast/crew: When editing a profile Ken provides a context menu [right click] for the cast and crew tabs.  You can copy cast/crew from one profile then open another profile and go to the corresponding cast/crew section and paste.  If i want to edit it first i can paste to a text editor.  That's the only time i ever see XML.  The various cast/crew editors work off the same principle but you never see the XML directly.)

Tweeter, would you mind posting when your contirbution has been approved? Just tried adding these and noticed they weren't in yet...I'm not even seeing the child profiles on my end - just the main box set.

The original submission is approved and available.

There are a couple errors in the original submission that might throw you if you search by name.

All three children's Edition says Special Extended DVD Edition and not just Extended Edition.

And The Return of the King is tagged as a DVD, not a Blu-ray.

I have a submission in for each of the profiles to correct these things (and add additional info not included i the original submission)

So if you use the menu options to Add to Collection and use the By Title option they are visible when you search for "Lord of the Rings".  They are the ones without a release date  (something i also fixed)

I received my copy yesterday as well and watched the first film. All I can say is "I loved it     ". It was awesome!. The picture and sound quality were superb. It was well worth the wait . I especially enjoyed the little short with Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar...it was hilarious .

I'm looking forward to the Child Profiles for this set as well. I can see the Child Profiles right now when I select "Add by Title" in DVD Profiler for iOS on my iPod Touch, although "Fellowship of the Ring" has no images .

Okay dokay, thanks for the info on cast/crew edit. We're both learning stuff here!

a) I extracted the XML from a DVDP XML Export of the profile that resulted from me adding 15 discs to the original box set profile and then loading each disc into my PC and doing a SET to get the discID for each disc.
b) As I mentioned before, I didn't even think about anybody using the XML directly. I was just trying to supply the discIDs, which you would have to copy manually from the XML and paste into a profile that you were contributing - which would be a profile incorporated as a child of the box set. Whew! Do you have it clear now?

None of the children have images.  The original submitter didn't include them.  I tried to create them and hated what my scanner did.

I found some front covers (bluray.com?) that i borrowed for local use.  Haven't found a back cover yet.
