| Posted: | | | | Hi to all
I have a collection of over 500 DVD and over 1'500 Blu-ray, most of them German releases. I miss a lot of them, added by own contributions about 130 DVD and Blu-ray's, but now I am still missing about 60 German Blu-ray's. I will contribute them over the time, but I sometimes wonder, do so few German's have Blu-ray or do they just not contribute? I am sure a lot of German's have those Blu-ray discs too, lets make all contributions so it's easier to enter the Blu-ray's into DVD-Profiler. Here the list of missing German releases in Blu-ray:
Die Reise zum Mittelpunkt der Erde (2D + 3D) Jugend ohne Jugend - Francis Ford Coppola Return of the Living Dead 4 und 5 Romero's Staunton Hill Gonger 2 - Das Böse kehrt zurück NASA - Träume der Menschheit Die Kreuzritter 1: Sie plünder für den Glauben Die wilden Hühner und die Liebe Welcome to the Jungle / Spiel auf Bewährung Die wilden Hühner Upstairs The Shadow Within Island of the Condemmed - Hier kommt keiner Lebend runter Tsunami: Die Todeswelle CASS - Legend of a Hooligan Diamond 13 Das Grab der Ligeia - Edgar Allan Poe The Collector - He always takes one The Way - Der Weg des Drachen Cornered - Das Killerspiel Lost Island - Von der Evolution vergessen Mitfahr Gelegenheit - der Weg ist das Ziel Ein Prophet The Final - Nächste Stunde: Rache! Serengeti - Wunderwelt der Tiere Great North - IMAX Stones Scorsese - Shine a Light Südsee Paradies - Vogelperspektive Französich-Polynesien Paradise Islands - Die schönsten Karibik-Inseln aus der Vogelperspektive Korallenriff Aquarium in HD - Die Unterwasserwelten der Fidschis Santa Claus - Der Film Unsere schönste Winterliche Weihnachten Jasper Park - Ausflug in den Tod Teufels Kicker - Wir machen euch die Hölle heiss! Single Man Ghost Machine Camp Rock 2 - The Final Jam The Messenger Dark Ride - Pay to get in. Pray to get out.
Thanks to all help,

I think you have in Germany the same phenomenon that we have in France. In the past, it was difficult to be the first to contribute. Now, with the nightmares of "credited as" system and of crew roles, and rules asking to enter ugly cosmetic features (as bold and italics in overviews and group dividers), many contributors flew away. Remaining contributors are mostly those who are interested to have in their local those features, and may be the majority only in this contribution forum. | | | Images from movies |

I think you have in Germany the same phenomenon that we have in France. It isn't only for those Yves, I can tell you that a large part of what I own isn't in the database and will never be. Too much trouble for what it's worth and a waste of time to contribute. Unless the system change to force a way to show you own the disc to contribute, I just don't see the point of contributing hours of work with the current system. Of course the reciproque is true since I don't use other people work because I must spend the same time doing the corrections. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm buying pretty much mainstream which means I usually find all the titles in the database.
But then again, I'm not buying that much stuff in Germany anymore anyway.

| Posted: | | | | You can use existing profiles from others countries already existing in DVDProfiler database to create you own missing german profiles. For example: "Im tahl of Elah" is the marican movie named "In the Valley of Elah". Plenty different profiles of that movie are already present and can be used as model for your specific german profile.
it's a solution to have an update personal databse even if it's not as quick as to find directly the german profiles.
Have a good day. |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, I think I've seen many of you list in the database. (Perhaps with a different EAN/UPC, so it is always the best to name these in addition of the title) If your versions have a different EAN/UPC, as the shortest workaround it's often the easiest to copy (clone) from an existing profile. (Of course, if you want to contribute, you have to re-check and correct/change some parts to match to your version) I could offer to have a look at the movies in my collection and check the profile, so you have a starting point for making your profiles: - Die Reise zum Mittelpunkt der Erde (2D + 3D) - Die wilden Hühner und die Liebe - Die wilden Hühner - The Collector - He always takes one - Evan allmächtig All as DVD. In general: I think the contributions for new BRs are really good in Germany. I think there are other localities where it is much harder to get a profile without doing by your own. |

Depending of your own choices for your local, copying from an existing profile is not always the quickest way, since you have to rewrite overview in locality language, make new scans, verify audio tracks and subtitles, correct SRP, release date and rating. This has to be done in all cases. With your personal preferences, you may have to remove some uninteresting crew, delete "credited as" data, delete group dividers, correct spelling of names to get proper linking, use genres as you wish. When all this has been done, you'll have spent more time than making everything from scratch. | | | Images from movies |

The German community runs their own forum: http://www.dvdprofiler-forum.de/They do not like it when German contributors take any discussions concerning their contributions over here to the main forum. So, if you do go over to their forum, you will probably need to stay there as they may penalize you in some way for posting over here. Depending of your own choices for your local, ... Of course it is depending on your preferences. But if it is just for having the profile and some basic informations, it is an easy and fast way. If you want more, you need to spend some time. |
