| Posted: | | | | There is an issue with a contribution I made. I'd just like some clarification.
Bones Season 5 and Bones Seasons 1-5 collection were both released on the same day in the UK.
My understanding has always been than, when it comes to child profiles, we go with the Season set rather than the Complete collection set.
The reasoning (I remember being told) was that not ever show releases a Complete 1-? Boxset whereas all shows release Season by Season sets.
I would just like to know going forward.
Reasoning with vote would be appreciated.
...and remember this is ONLY for cases where the items are released on the same day! |

| Posted: | | | | Just for clarification: What exactly is the question?
Do season box and complete box have the same EAN/UPC? Does the S1-5 set not have individual UPCs for the seasons, so you want to use the DiscId from disc 1 as identifiere for the season? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | You can attach one (or more of course) particular child profile to more than one set, so what exactly is the problem? | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I'm guessing that because both the single season and complete series sets will contain identical discs, it's a question about cover scans and such? I would use scans of the individual season over the complete set. Though I agree some clarification would be helpful - what is the exact problem? |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry...I didn't specify that the issue is primarily cover scans.
The Complete Seasons 1-5 box contains Thinpak cases while the Season 5 set was a keep case with slipcover.
Also not ALL the discs in the Complete Box are the same - Disc 6 for example.
The main issue here is should the cover art, at DISC LEVEL, reflect the Season Set or the Complete Set in this circumstance. |

| Posted: | | | | I voted for the second option. (Season)
With this, the users that don't change the scans of the child profiles would have for every season a season cover scan. (So in some way something matching together) With the other option Season 1-4 child profiles would have season scans, but the childs for season 5 would be for complete series. |

| Posted: | | | | I believe we had this argument with Alias, which was in the same situation with a good number of people arguing whatever gets the the DB first should stay. I don't buy it, myself. Prioritizing seasons over complete series for cover art if they are released the same day makes sense because you will have a consistent approach for all seasons. |

In Season 5 of Bones only Discs 1-5 seemed the same, whereas Disc 6 was different....or at least I assume this due to the fact that Disc 6 was not submitted with the Complete Series cover art. I submitted that with the Season 5 cover art. So, currently in the db we have discs 1-5 with the Complete Series Boxset covers and Disc 6 with the Season 5 cover. |

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. | Posted: | | | | A simple solution would be to ask: What came first? In 99,9% the individual Seasons were published way before the Complete Series. In that case the content/cover would fall under the re-release Rule.
If the Complete Series is published at the same time as the last season of the series, I would still go with the Season-profiles because it would be ridiculous to have a Complete Series profile in which only the last season has these specific informations and the other seasons have the child profiles of the Season-releases. | | | Deutsches DVD Profiler Forum: www.dvdprofiler-forum.de |

| Posted: | | | | I bow to the will of the majority, where individual season artwork is available it will take precedence over collection 1-? and I will adjust my collection locally to reflect the artwork I have. |
