| Posted: | | | | Once again my vote on a contribution is at odds with the decision of the screeners, so I'm posting this as an FYI for those few people who may have this DVD yet still care somewhat about the rules. Here is the recently approved contribution: Here is a portion of the "special [bonus] features" taken from the rear cover: Here is the portion of the rules covering bonus feature films: Either: 1) I cannot understand what I read in the rules 2) The screeners don't know what the the rules say or 3) The screeners don't care about the rules and go with the majority vote In any case, I've locked my local profile and will leave it others (if interested) to correct the online database. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | I'm guessing that the biggest issue you have is that you don't agree that "Das fidele Gefängnis" should be classed as a bonus film? And of course the rules for these currently assume that the bonus film is on a separate disc, but don't make it clear whether that means bonus films on the same disc don't count. |

| Posted: | | | | Das fidele Gefängnis obviously is a bonus film, and thus this DVD shouldn't be treated as a double feature.

The notes you show give the impression that the 1917 is on the same disc as the main feature. That means it's physically impossible to follow the rules as written, just as it used to be to follow the boxset rules when the films were on the same disc. It seems the contributor was in a Catch 22 situation: it is a bonus film, so it can be contributed, but it doesn't have its own disc so it can't be contributed. Doing it the way they have done seems the best compromise. It's either that or no one gets the bonus film information. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | Kind of childish no? If you're not happy with the decision lock your profile or don't use the database. I do this and the drama create in my life by the database had decrease by 100% because of this. |

| Posted: | | | | Question Are the 2 movies on the same disc, same side?
If so, how do you contribute the bonus feature as a child, wothout a separate disc ID (Unless you duplicate the disc ID for the child and Parent)
If this is the case, north is correct, it is a catch 22.
If they are 2 separate discs, then the new contribution is wrong. |

1) I cannot understand what I read in the rules
This! You don't understand this part: Quote: Create the profile for the main feature in line with the standard Contribution Rules with the title of the Bonus Feature Film added to the Other Features field. Create a child profile for the "Bonus Feature Film" using the individual UPC if available or use Disc ID (read on a DVD-ROM) if not available. In the main profile you should mention the bonus film only as "other feature". Cast and crew may only be added to a child profile. Therefore you either profile the bonus film as a child profile or if not possible you can't add it at all. |

If this is the case, north is correct, it is a catch 22. Whether or not you can create a seperate profile for the bonus film is irrelevent. The Rules state (as underlined above: ) Quote: These are not the same as Double Features ...
Create the profile for the main feature in line with the standard Contribution Rules with the title of the Bonus Feature Film added to the Other Features field. There is no contradiction, you just may not be able to contribute cast and crew data for all bonus films as the program and rules currently stand. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | So what you are saying....
The original profile did not have hte cast and crew for the bonus feature in the main profile...
and
Since there wasn't a second disc, the cast and crew were not profiled there either. So
By what you are saying, the cast and crew for the "Bonus Film" should not be added at all, Only the mention of the bonus film in the features.
Do I understand this right?

| Posted: | | | | The way I read the rule the cast and crew data cannot be entered for a bonus film unless it can be entered in a seperate child profile.

I would disagree with that interpretation. I believe the current rule simply assumes the bonus film is on a separate disc and doesn't cover what you should do if it is not. If Invelos want us to profile bonus films on the same disc, that should be covered in the rules, if Invelos don't want us to profile them - that also should be clearly stated. |

| Posted: | | | | Ok same disc, same side, is NOT a Bonus feature,Scott.I though it was two separate discs. The only way to handle what you are describing is via Episode Divider. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Wow now telling that someone act in a childish way is name calling... Sorry if my words make your heart cry but I call a cat a cat not a dog. BTW Ken had already said to not bring the contribution vote on the forum if you disagree with them. The screeners had the last words and if you don't agree with them just contribute it the way it was... |
