I have had that with some of the more obscure stuff I have gotten... but never anything that well known.

Yes, I have had this happen.  Usually it is because everyone else bought a different version than I did.

Sure, it happens, no big deal, it IS  a user built database after all. There can be as many as FOUR different UPCs for each given title, one for each electronic security system and one for NO security system.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

I have this happen constantly.  Of course, after some recent threads I'm no longer sure if the profile never existed or if somebody just unilaterally decided that the online needed to be cleaned out.

I had forgotten about that thread...you are correct, there is that possibility.

I've bought discs this year that were released back in 2005 that were not in the database, not big titles but not that obscure I think. But this was of course in the Swedish locality where not much happens anymore... But it has also happened a few times in bigger localites. Anime titles seem to suffer the most but it could also be because I bought a cheaper re-release when everyone else bought the original.

I seem to be one of the very few contributors who collects Bollywood movies. Therefore almost all of my Bollywood purchases (mostly German locality but also some UK releases) I have to enter from scratch.

Yes I have been surprised, especially when there isn't another just like it only with a different UPC in the database either. I've had it happen to me three times, I think, on all being several years old.

I have wondered about that too. I downloaded several tv series into my wishlist, and later was going back to see if newer seasons were out yet only to discover the one that I had downloaded was no longer there at all searching by name or UPC. Double-checking, it was a valid UPC and disc set, so I don't know what happened to it or why.

Happens now and then, I initialized JCVD in May. We already had the B-rD 2-Disc-Collector's Edition, the B-rD 2-Disc-Collector's Edition SteelBook and the B-rD 1-Disc rental. Missing was the B-rD 1-Disc resale.

I seem to have it happen rather often, I put it down to the kind of small amount of Australian users/contributers.

Maybe a good idea to create a special thread for DVDs added to the database AFTER the release date and missing before that day.

Just added 841887011372: Collision (PBS), an ITV Series created by Anthony Horowitz. Released last year but not in database. As Edition: Masterpiece Contemporary. Holy.....

80% of DVD's i buy arent in the database, regardless how popular the movie is. It got worse after Blu-Ray, cause the main finnish contributors switched to bluray (at least i think thats one of the reasons why there arent as many DVD's as there used to be).
