| Posted: | | | | Today I saw something strange: I own a version of a movie that doesn't have end credits. (I think the other versions of this movie do have end credits) The existing profile contains the credits copied from another version/profile of this movie.
What to do: - Leave cast that's shown on movie beginning and take the others uncredited? For crew, delete all that are not shown at movie beginning? - The credits are from another version, that contained end credits, so they are Ok and I can leave them in? |

| Posted: | | | | Other: Document the cast as uncredited using the other profiles cast list and enter them as such to the profile of the version without credits in the film. Make sure to explain this understandable for the average user in your contribution notes. That's actually what you have described as your first option in your post. But it does not match IMO the options in the poll. EDIT: I wish we would have uncredited crew for the rare case when important crew such as the director is not credited as such (e.g. dogma 95 rule 10). | | | Last edited: by RHo |

And it's not allowed. |

| Posted: | | | | The end credits cast and crew are uncredited in your version:
So leave those cast in, but mark them all uncredited and reorder them alphabetically per the Rules.
But take those crew out (of the online). (I would change all the roles to Custom and leave them in my local if I were you to prevent accidently contributing them in future.) |

My first issue is more information. What you describe is very typical of bootlegs, which are not to ever be contributed to begin with. But assuming that your copy is legal then Caleb's answer is reasonable, but i really have my doubts about the legality of what you own.

| Posted: | | | | I seen the end credits removed on some of the very cheap (think dollar dvds) public domain movies. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Looks like I see things another way, but what harm does these credits do in the profile if they actually worked on the movie (And are credited in other versions of it)? What are gained by removing the data? The only thing removing them will do is to frustrate other owners (or new owners) of the movie since they will have an empty crew list.
I think it's better for the user base as a whole to just leave it as it is, IF it matches another version of the movie. From a strict rules point of view, you are correct to remove them, but why? | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity | | | Last edited: by reybr |

In the theater you HAVE to read a Cast list like this one left to right, or you will only see half the credit list. | Posted: | | | | I've seen this with many American and western DVDs of Asian movies where the entire Asian movie credits are removed or sometimes replaced with very abbreviated credit in English. For the former, I'd advocate for leaving the credit from the other DVD profile (that contained the original credit). For the latter, I'd put in the abbreviated credit as shown, and then maybe append the credit with names from the other credit as "uncredited". | | | My Home Theater |
