Today I've encountered a contribution where someone is submitting two "visual effects" credits for an on-screen credit that says: "Computer Animation Produced at <company name> by <names X and Y>".

Correct or not?

I've seen similar terminology under visual effects companies, such as CGI Supervisor or Computer Animation Supervisor.

Even though today's movies use CGI to do Visual Effects I don't see how this could be contributed at this time.

So the short answer is No.

The person should keep it local it they wish.

I don't think this fits within the Crew table, so I don't think it can be contributed.

No twice.

First it's worded wrong. second we don't credit VFX producers anyway (although I'm not sure why we don't).

No as well.

It's not listed, tim, so the answer is NO. Why not just follow the Rules which cllearly do NOT include the credit you describe. Why is this even a question?

This is also why I think it is uuseful to LIST exactly what the credit is in the notes, we have uisers that are inserting data of their choice that later has to be removed by not communicating with everyone clearly.

What's with the obnoxious attitude?! As noted, I just encountered a contribution where someone added these, and I merely wanted to check whether I would be correct to vote against it. That's all.

No attitude, tim. The crewe Chart is obvious, that's all. and provides tjhe answer. You were correct to vote No, but i still don't see why this ie even a question. "Computer Animation Produced at <company name> by <names X and Y>" is not even close to listed.

You assume an attitude where there is none. I am merely commenting on something that to me is absolutely obvious in its answer., and tryiong to understand, based upon the rules, why there coukld possibly be any other answer.

Not true in this general form. The chart asks to enter only exactly listed roles, but at the same time the only allowed role for OMB is "original material by". We all know that this exact role name has hardly ever been seen in the wild. Not to mention variants like "written for the screen by" which almost everybody agrees to be allowed even though it´s not listed. Therefore the chart is not obvious in general.

Imho you're absolutely correct. This is not in anyway matching to the credit chart.  ... And as this is one of the credits that have to match exactly per rules, there is no interpretation allowed.

Don't be this hard.

Not everyone has the time to look into the movie credits how the crew member is credited on screen and check it with the credit chart.
If there is no special note from the contributor, you've to do this to go sure. But this is really hard doing for all contributions you've to vote for.

There must be always a little bit faith to the other users.

Been there, done that.  It doesn't fill me with confidence when I see this situation play out over and over and over again.
