I am afraid with the latest news on my mother's health I will not be around much anymore.

I don't know a lot... but we finally got some answers from one of the doctors. Her cancer is indeed back. She has 2 small tumors one in her lung and one in her breast. But they said that the major concern is her respiratory system and her bad  emphysema coupled with her COPD. While they are keeping her going we are thinking it is only a matter of time. The hospital is contacting Hospice as it don't look like her lungs will get much (if any) better then they are.

I do want to thank you all for all your kind thoughts, best wishes and prayers that you sent our way. And if anyone of you feel you can continue with that they will be much appreciated.

As for me right now... I am not saying I am leaving the site... though my participation both here on the forums and in contributions will be limited. As we found out there will have to be a lot of changes here at the house. Which is going to take up the majority of my time. I will pop in as much as I can though... and even try to do a little bit of contributions here and there the best I can.

I also want to thank you all for all the work you have done here on the database. I am afraid I will have to depend on you all a lot more then I am used to doing. I know what people say about this forum... but you know what? I am sitting here thinking back... and I have just as many good memories as I do the not so good ones.  One thing I do know... whether we fight like cats and dogs.... agree... disagree... or what have you. I really believe that everyone here only wants the best for the database. And as I said for that I really want to Thank you all.

@Ken and Gerri Cole
I especially want to thank you both... for making such a wonderful and addictive program. I know for sure... if it wasn't for DVD Profiler there is no way I would have gotten into collecting DVDs as much as I had. I wouldn't even have half the DVDs I do if I never found this software! You all make a great product!

As I said... I will try to come here as I can... stop in to say hi to everyone... maybe if I am feeling good and Masochistic I will jump into whatever the current debate is about.

So no... I am not going to say goodbye... I will talk to you all again. And hopefully it won't be too long.
Pete

Family first, of course. Not to try and equate situations, but I found during a difficult period some time ago (actually debugging plugins in hospital rooms, for example), that this Forum was a source of pleasant distraction. I hope that when things "settle" a bit more in your household, you can also find some solace in a community of people who share like interests, and who are just removed enough to make it safe to occasionally "let it all hang out." Best wishes and prayers for you and your family.

OMG I am so sorry somehow I made him think he needed to apologize ...

Oh I am sorry I guess I didn't make it clear. The reason I won't have much time for this is because my time will have to be focused elsewhere. Believe me I would love the distraction of DVD Profiler and the forum here.

Certainly, no apology was needed.
Thanks for your support.

See... we need to make changes at the house here... Until now my daughter shared a room with her grandmother  (being the only 2 girls in the house). Now I have to take the time to arrange so each has their own room... as we believe hospice will care for my mother here at home. I can't have my daughter in the same room as her anymore obviously. And that is just one of the small things we need to get ready for.

As I said... I will be around... just not near the time I have been... and after some point today I may not be here for a while... until we get everything straight and going at a normal level again. So once I get everything started it could be a week or 2 before I show my face again. And then it may be at week or 2 intervals after that.

Pete, I for one will miss your presence, but under your present situation, it is completely understandable. My continued prayer and thoughts to you and your family. Stay strong Pete.

Family first, of course. Wishing you and your family loads of goods.
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

Best wishes, you will be missed Wolfman.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Pete,

I wish all the best for you, your mother and the rest of your family.

As others have said, make sure you take time for yourself.  Whether that time is spent here on the forum or elsewhere, you need to take a break from the stress of the situation.  I am dealing with a very similar situation with my parents.  While I sometimes feel a little guilty for doing something for me or my family, I remind myself that if I get too caught up in the situation, I won't be much help to them anyway.  It is important to take care of yourself while you take care of your mother.

Keep us in the loop on how things are going.  You have my prayers.
