Eeek!!!!!!!!!!!!
But 2 seems the most logical choice and the closest to the ON Screen data, unless you wanted to use a divider for Themselves, which is not something I would do in this case.

Well, I'd have to go with option 2.  Obviously they weren't so pressed for credit space that they had to cram two names together, there must have been some purpose to it.  Given that, I keep them combined in my credit entry.  I certainly don't give every individual a "themselves" role.  That just becomes meaningless junk to me.

I voted for 1 as I know they are individuals, however I can see option 2 as also being acceptable.
Another option could be:
Jadakiss [Jadakiss & Sheek] as Themselves
Sheek [Jadakiss & Sheek] as Themselves

which would allow for any linking to any other appearances by either person.

Considering the CLT data, I'd do option 1 in combination with "Credited As" set to "Jadakiss & Sheek" for both Jadakiss and Sheek.

If this was their only credit in the database, I might be inclined to go with option #2 - especially as I don't know these people, I'd probably treat it as a stage name.

But now that we know, per the CLT results provided by the original poster, that they each have other credits in the database as well, that really has to be taken into consideration. We've got to link those credits together somehow, and so I would probably arrive at some form of option #1 as well.

Hmmm, good point, Tim. But like you I don't know these individuals, nor do I know if they are individuals and not simply the name of a band, ala I know I am dating myself but...Gerry and the Pacemakers. Seals & Croft are known individuals, as are Simon & Garfunkel, etc. So I suppose for Option 1 to be truly viable, then it would be a good idea to verify that Jadakiss & Sheek are individuals, for someone that is a fan I am sure that would not present a big challenge.

Could Jadakiss & Sheek be considered a stage name for the group?

That is how they are presented in their music?

Opted for #2

This is how I would go, using the credited as.

Jadakiss and Sheek are two different people.  They are credited this way, I believe, because the song included in the film was by Jadakiss featuring Sheek...which is a rap way of saying the song was by Jadakiss but Sheek sang as well.  This looks like the movie 'Honey', which I haven't seen in a long time and don't own, so I am going by memory.

I opted for #1.

Since I know they are 2 different people, I'd do a mix of this and opition 1, resulting in this:

Missy Elliott as Herself
Jadakiss [Jadakiss & Sheek] as Himself
Sheek [Jadakiss & Sheek] as Himself
Shawn Desman as Himself

Then the notes for credited as would make the "himself" proper. Themself sounds wrong, and Themselves is way wrong when dealing with one person.

1. Is wrong because it does not match the on-screen credit.  They are credited together, as a group.  In order to use this method they would have to appear on separate lines.

3. Is wrong, because we regularly change plurals to singulars in group credits, e.g., "children" is changed to "child" for each individual.  Missy Elliott and Shawn Desmond are individuals (not plural).

2. Accurately portrays what is displayed in the actual credits.

Would you take the credit "Penn & Teller as Themselves" and enter them as two individual credits?

I wouldn't.

Do we have to know what they're "known by" in order to submit the credits?

No we don't, James. We are to enter the data exactly as we see it, which is why I went with Option 2. But i am open to other possibilities and Tim happened to bring up an interesting point. But i would still tend to go with 2.

No, and I don't believe I said we did.  My point...if they were a duo or group, I would submit them as a duo or group.  Since they aren't, I wouldn't.  As an example, I would enter a credit of 'Aerosmith' as a single entry but I would enter a credit of 'Steven Tyler & Joe Perry' as two entries.  How you do it is 100% up to you.
