I have a new windows XP system.  I did not find anything in the forums with a search.  I did a support with Ken.  He is out of ideas and thinks it may be hardware, but suggested posting to see if anyone else has a solution.  I do hope is not hardware since its a brand new system.  No other programs are giving me problems.

I just downloaded the DVD Profiler and ran setup.  When I open DVD Profiler I immediatly get a "File Corrupted!" error message.  If I click that it exits.  If I do not click it the program will continue startup for a few seconds.  I have uninstalled and tried again.  This is without any existing database, as I have not gotten it to startup yet.

dvdpro.exe 3.1.1.1171

I assume you've tried downloading dvdprofiler again? maybe the install bundle is corrupt.

I did a md5 checksum of the zip and mine is 310a7363f5f8368379d846abaa420f5c

You can download a tool to create md5 checksums from here

Only you and Ken can read your support tickets.

Got the same checksum.  He had me check the size and certificate of the dvdpro.exe.  They were correct.

have you tried installing it in safe mode?

I've had a look around and I think you should run adaware or spybot SD (to check you have no spyware).

Which is your CPU type AMD / Intel?
Which Firewall are you running (desktop (if "yes" which) or hardware)?

If you are not running any firewall you should better reinstall your system, cause it's probably infected.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You should check your HD for errors (e.g. ontrack easy recovery).
After this you should download the latest virus signatures from symantec via life update or download the appropriate file from the Symantec website. After this you should perform a full virus scan.
Unfortunately even brand new systems can contain adware, malware, trojans etc.!

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.1 download this free program here

I would desinstall Norton Antivirus, it uses a lot off resources and install AVG free, you can download it here

have a go with both programs and see what it comes up with.

I do not have a choice on antivirus.  It had latest antivirus.

It is the same stuff installed on many systems, so I doubt it came with a virus.  I have daily scans that run, none have reported any issues.

CPU Intel Dou Core 2 laptop.
Firewall is software and hardware.
